Last month, the State Department denied the Canadian company TransCanada's application to build the pipeline after determining that a 60-day deadline imposed recently by Congress would not let it complete a thorough review. TransCanada has said it will apply again.

You must understand. This is Keystone Phase III. This has been pure political theater and an epic failure and embarrassment to the White House as it should be.

There is a bottle-neck of oil at the Cushing, OK hub and it's close to full more often than not. There is a much larger capacity for sending oil to the Cushing, OK hub than for taking the oil to the refineries in Port Arthur and Houston. I wrote in a similar thread about a month ago, that there are actually two pipelines being built right now. The Keystone XL pipeline goes from Hardesty, Alberta to Steelhead, Nebraska. It splits there and some of the oil will go to Illinois and Missouri. Some will go south to Cushing, OK. To ensure that there's a better and faster way to get oil from Cushing to the gulf coast, a much larger pipeline is being constructed. But it's not the only one, and the state governments of Oklahoma and Texas have NO LOVE for the feds when it comes to doing these things. They okayed both pipelines in record times.

The oil fields in west Texas are seeing a revitalization just like in North Dakota because of hydraulic fracturing. Barry and his tree-huggers can't do anything about it because it's all on PRIVATE LANDS. So, to get the oil to the refineries, they're building a pipeline from west Texas to Houston. This one WILL NOT go through Cushing, OK. The second pipeline which is being built is from Cushing, OK to Port Arthur and Houston is to basically help alleviate the bottle-neck at Cushing. IF the part of the Keystone XL north of Cushing is built, then this leg between Cushing and the refineries in Texas will be its southern half. Either way, the pipeline between Cushing and Texas is sorely needed.

The HUGE pipe welders and fitters unions here in Tulsa is absolutely LIVID at the Dem's and at Barry. Why do you think he's coming to the REDDEST state in America to talk about his wonderful energy policy? In the recent primaries here, Barrack Obama only got 51% of the primary vote!!!!! Randall Terry and four other Democratic candidates for President took the rest. Of course no one had ever heard of them before. But the point is, a sitting President AND unopposed national candidate ONLY got 51%!!!!! If you drive around Tulsa, you can see members of the union members with OMG (Obama Must Go) stickers now on their trucks.

In 2000 the state of Oklahoma was Democratic. Since statehood we have had a Democratic Senate, House and the governor was 2 out of 3 times, a Democrat. In 2004 for the first time in our history, the House went Republican with a very simple majority. In 2008 the Senate followed. In 2010 both the House and Senate enjoyed the election of a Republican super majority along with a Republican governor. The state Democratic party is embarrassed... and they should be.

With Barry and the boys, it NEVER has to do with what he says. He says that Wall Street is bad, bad... But, he takes more money from Wall Street than any other President before him. He says that he wants to tax the rich. But, he's got more millionaires and billionaires funding him than any other politician. He wants 'transparency' in Washington, but he makes recess appointments when the Congress isn't in recess and his Attorney General is neck deep in fast and furious crap. He says that he wants to bring us together... but only if you do what HE wants. Otherwise, like the Republicans on Capital Hill before the midterms, you'll be locked out. The only way to know that Barry is lying is to ask if his mouth is moving. If it is... He's lying.

Barry wants us to not use oil... period. Like most arm chair liberals, he thinks that we'll have to endure some hardships but that it would be 'better for us' if we just stopped using it and went to so-called green energy. Course, the small fact that green energy is years away from being a primary source is a minor detail. And of course, arm chair liberals don't mind it if the masses suffer... just not them and their pals. They know what is best for us, put down that damn happy meal and ask them!

This has absolutely ZERO to do with the environment. It has to do with the Dem party base and keeping the liberals in Hollyweird happy and the checks flowing in to the re-election campaign. And, I have to admit, I'm not too sure that it doesn't have something to do with Canadians as well. I mean we're such a good friend to Israel since Barry became President. When 9/11 happened the Canadians were right there and they went into Afghanistan with us. You can always tell your friends when you get the wind knocked out of you. Friends are there no matter what. The Canadians, the Brits, the Aussies and others were there.

From what I understood the Southern leg of the extension does not need the federal governements approval. But this article say the administration will cut the red tape involved in the process.

I'm not GOP. I'm a Canuck and have been a water conservationist for decades. This has never been an issue about the environment. This issue has strictly been about Obama and catering to enviro whackos.
