I think it's not likely. Both America and Russia have adopted unwritten rules that govern the war. Russia is not pressed into taking extremely damaging actions against the Ukraine but will easily counter the damage done, and step it up a few notches.

And of course America is carefully instructing the Ukrainian regime on what measures it can take against Russia.

With nuclear war everybody loses, but everybody isn't interested in losing. And there's no chance that Russia will expand the war anymore than they need to gain territorial security against the US threat.

Whereas America only wants a neverending war without threatening Putin to the point at which he must act with a show of strength.

As reported at MSN, Biden now admits the United States is at risk of “direct conflict” with Russia “if the Kremlin succeeds in its war in Ukraine.”
I guess he didn’t think anyone was paying attention to him and his war games.
