Middle-class workers will take a bigger hit to their income proportionately than those earning between $200,000 and $500,000 under the new fiscal cliff deal, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.
Earners in the latter group will pay an average 1.3 percent more - or an additional $2,711 - in taxes this year, while workers making between $30,000 and $200,000 will see their paychecks shrink by as much as 1.7 percent - or up to $1,784 - the D.C.-based think tank reported.
Overall, nearly 80 percent of households will pay more money to the federal government as a result of the fiscal cliff deal.

This should be a surprise to nobody, with the possible exception of TMN.

the Obama Administration was responsible for the tax cut to begin with as a victory against Republican opposition -

the public hopefully is beginning to see the sinister aspect of Tea Party Republicans who gleefully allowed that tax to be increased but jockeyed the 250K tax to be raised to 450K when they tried to insist on 1M.

Depreciation of the dollar, increased debt service per family, commiecare taxes, higher food prices, increased energy costs, 8% unemployment.......

At least the middle class has hope and change to look forward too...............lol

obama will just issue a press release that this is improvement and it will bring a sigh of relief. Liberals will say even though you had a reduction in your paycheck, the rich have a bigger reduction and are being punished more than you are so you should be willing to sacrifice a little so the rich can be punished a lot.

Obama has flip flopped on the Bush tax cuts.......he can flip flop again sucker....

not to mention he is already picking your pocket in many other ways....

Anyone who claims about paying his fair share of the now-expired temporary payroll (SS, MC) tax is either mentally feeble, poorly educated, mentally malignant, or a combination of all three.

Uhm, what? Did you and TM take a vodka breakfast together this morning?

So, Soggy, you want the government to subsidize your SS payments, you want the government to support you. Is that right?

Why don't you want to pay your full share of SS, since it is a program we pay into.

Because he doesn't want to take personal responsibility. He'd rather the productive citizens pay for his retirement.
