Though I don't agree that Bush effectively condemned thousands of people to die just so his friends could turn a profit. If he did, he will answer for it eventually.

I sure hope so. All indications that I have come across so far point to this being the case, sadly. And actually, I think it was more Cheney who was behind it. Bush was just a puppet.
Al Qaida was being trained in Iraq.
Please provide ANY evidence to back up your claim.
Thank You
WASHINGTON (CNN) --President Bush's national security adviser Wednesday said Saddam Hussein has sheltered al Qaeda terrorists in Baghdad and helped train some in chemical weapons development -- information she said has been gleaned from captives in the ongoing war on terrorism.
The comments by Condoleezza Rice were the strongest and most specific to date on the White House's accusations linking al Qaeda and Iraq.
The accusations followed those made by President Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who earlier in the day said the United States has evidence linking Iraq and al Qaeda, but they did not elaborate. And the charges came as the White House sought to dispel accusations by Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who blasted the administration for an "outrageous" effort to seek political gain from the Iraq debate.
Meanwhile, President Bush will meet with House Democrats and Republicans this morning at the White House to specifically discuss Iraq. Bush is expected to speak in the Rose Garden immediately following the meeting.
In an interview with PBS' "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer," Rice said the U.S. government clearly knows "that there were in the past and have been contacts between senior Iraqi officials and members of al Qaeda going back for actually quite a long time."
"We know too that several of the detainees, in particular some high-ranking detainees, have said that Iraq provided some training to al Qaeda in chemical weapons development," Rice said.
"So, yes, there are contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda. We know that Saddam Hussein has a long history with terrorism in general. And there are some al Qaeda personnel who found refuge in Baghdad," she said. "There clearly are contacts between al Qaeda and Iraq that can be documented."
At the same time, she cautioned that "no one is trying to make an argument at this point that Saddam Hussein somehow had operational control of what happened on September 11th, so we don't want to push this too far."...
I am so grateful that we finally have a President that who puts America's interests first and cares about our country.
Yes, I agree. I think Bush had his own agenda concerning the Iraq invasion. That was wrong on so many levels.
Al Qaida was being trained in Iraq. Iraq was a valid target.
The war was fought under too much political correctness. That was bush's mistake.
Annie, anyone who knows anything about the middle east, knew that Rice and others in the Bush administration were lying.
Heck, even I at the time was aware that Saddam and Osama hated each other.
To say that they were working together was basically stupid.
Surely, people in our government was aware of the real situation.
Rice has a Ph,D in political science. Of course she knew she was lying.
In hindsight Iraq was a mistake.
As I recall, every intelligence agency not only our CIA believed this guy had WMD's. Could we have taken the chance that it was so?? This guy gassed 5,000 Kurds with WMD's and killed thousands of his own people in every way you can imagine. He was NO great loss to anyones society. Was it worth the price we payed in the blood of our young men?? I think history will answer that one. I sure can't.
I think Bush was right to invade Iraq.
Why? I'm very curious to hear why you think so. I believe it is one of the biggest mistakes that this country has ever made, and we've made lots of 'em. It was a travesty. I truly believe that this war was initiated for the monetary benefit of buscho's cronies in the private security biz at the expense of tax payers, and for no other reason. None of their "reasons" for it add up, and I do believe that they cooked intelligence. If I'm right, I do hope that one day they are made to pay for what they did to this country.

You see, the problem with your request for an explaination is moot. No matter what reason is given, you're not going to change your stance. Or you would have done so long ago when all the good reasons were given. There were plenty of reasons offered that many very objective people were willing to go along with. But if removing a ruthless murderous tyrant from power isn't enough, then that's on your own conscience. Not anyone elses. I'm sure that you would agree, well maybe not publicly, that the logic behind a get rich quick scheme as a reason for the US to go and invade another country is kinda dumb. If it were that easy to plan, it would have been that easy to see prior to any declaration.

Well, sir, if you are right...and I don't think you are...then Mr. Bush, Mr. Chenney, and EVERY member of congress who voted for it, have a LOT of explaining to do.

Republicans are by far the greatest threat to this country. They already talk about seceding from the Union. They talk about a military take over.
By far, Republicans are the US's greatest danger and worst enemy.

yawn...can you put some solid NON biased proof on the table that has NOT resulted in war crimes against the Bush and company?

I'm a Republican. What do you see in my posts that justifies your ridiculous broad brushing?

Right. Tool.
This post gets my nomination for one of the dumbest ever on this board. The move to go into Iraq was strategy, it might have been a mistake, but there were good reasons:
two highly populated areas were attacked 9/11
our nation is not designed with walled cities or houses, we are very vulnerable to attacks on our soil
by taking the fight to Iraq, it was 'removed' from our streets and towns
by puting the fight in Iraq, a message was given to terrorists: defend your own turf first
Defending Iraq from 'infidels' kept terrorists out of our country and in a country that helped grow them
It makes it harder for terrorists to recruit when the cannot defend 'home turf'
If our troops pull out of Iraq and Afganistan before the war is won, we will be right back to having terrorists concentrating attacks on our soil. It is a tough call for a president that thought all there was to the job was looking good.
