Good Lord what a laughable excercise in political futility!

Team Obama invites 150 doctors to the White House for a pro-public option photo op and hands them all white coats to wear.

Oy Vey...

WASHINGTON -- President Obama yesterday rolled out the red carpet -- and handed out doctors' white coats as well, just so nobody missed his hard-sell health-care message.

In a heavy-handed attempt at reviving support for health-care reform, the White House orchestrated a massive photo op to buttress its claim that front-line physicians support Obama.

OBAMA LIFTS HEALTH CARE ADDRESS -- FROM HIMSELF

A sea of 150 white-coated doctors, all enthusiastically supportive of the president and representing all 50 states, looked as if they were at a costume party as they posed in the Rose Garden before hearing Obama's pitch for the Democratic overhaul bills moving through Congress.

OOPS! A crowd of 150 doctors gathers in the Rose Garden to support the health-care overhaul -- as White House staffers scramble to hand out camera-ready white coats to those who forgot their own.

The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.

But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.

So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.

It's the Month of Costumes!...

Am I the only sick bastage alive that thinks of Vagina lips every time I hear the word "Hoods?" :eusa_eh::eusa_eh::evil::eek:

Good thread!
Did you happen to catch the reports on both CNN and FOX this morning where over 40 of the doctors who had been invited had no idea why they had been invited. And that they in no way supported this fiasco of a healthcare plan?
That fiasco yesterday was nothing more than another Obama dog and pony show. And the ignorant libs buy into that shit. Too freakin' funny!

Really? If I were invited to the WH, no matter who was president, I'd want to know why I'd been invited. Wouldn't you, wouldn't anyone? Who gets invited to the WH and doesn't ask 'why'? I find it hard to believe that these 40 had no clue why they were there and find it even harder to believe that they didn't bother to ask before attending, especially in light of everything that's going on now. Health care reform going, they're doctors, they get invited to the WH, . . . and they never bothered to ask why they were invited? :doubt:

they were lured into a trap, drugged, dressed in white hoods, and abused for a photo-op.

just another day at the obama white house. you are doomed.

Bravo Joe!

"TAKE A COAT...TAKE A SEAT"

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 "TAKE A COAT...TAKE A SEAT!" Image via Wikipedia The President once again turns to the cameras of the media to push his bid for a public option in the health care bill. Yesterday he invited some 150 doctors to the White House to be with him when he faced the cameras. All of them were supposedly Obama supporters. There was however, a problem. It seems that not all the doctors got the memo reminding them to wear white coats. Not to worry though, the President's staff happened to find a supply of white coats in varying sizes for the doctors that didn't have one. Once that little glitch was solved, the President flanked by white coats on each side of the podium, faced a sea of white in the audience and delivered his message.

This was not a meeting with the medical community to discuss the pros and cons of the health care debate. These doctors were used as props so the message would take on a more official appearance to the public. Many of the doctors thought they were there to talk health care with the President and were a little confused when White House staffers came up to them with the question, "Where's you're coat?" Additional video footage shows staff workers out in the seated audience handing out the whites to anyone seated who wasn't wearing one. You can imagine the line they used... "Here, we need you to put this on and be a doctor for one hour."

It seemed a bit peculiar that the President was singing praises to this group for their service to society, when a month ago he was railing them for being part of the problem by performing unnecessary tests, and operations, driving up health costs unnecessarily. He also praised them for adhering to the "oath" they took to practice medicine and how disheartening it must be not to be able to supply the best medical treatment for all their patients. This is the same Hippocratic Oath that his health care advisor Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel has written about as being a part of the health care dilima because it may be linked to reasons some doctors keep patients alive longer than necessary. (see:jama.ama-assn.org/)

The President doesn't want health care reform, he wants a public option run by the government and will go to any length to get it. His union pals are counting on it. They need the government to step in and bail them out from the mess they've made with their own health care system. More Obama political payback to the few placed on the backs of the whole. If he was really wanting to get a group of doctors together and discuss health care, he might consider some of the 1000 or so that marched on 9/12 against his health agenda.

"TAKE A COAT...TAKE A SEAT"

Too fuckin' much. :dig:

Indeed! An epic failure that looked absolutely ridiculous.

Who hatched this lame scheme? Here's your white coat doctor - please put it on and sit down. Thank you...

Out of the door, line on the left. One white hood each

UPDATE

The New York Times has revealed yet another double standard in covering political advocacy groups.

The Times was quick to condemn the Bush administration for conducting "too many photo-ops aimed at giving Mr. Bush and his fellow Republicans a short-term lift in the domestic opinion polls." But the Times didn't seem to have a problem with Obama "trying to use his platform to keep public attention on the effort."

Furthermore, the Times noted in an update to the aforementioned blog post, which appeared in print in today's paper (without the update), that Doctors for America, the group attended the Rose Garden photo-op, "appears to be working closely with Organizing for America," an extension of the Obama campaign.

Considering the Times claimed that Tea Party protests were organized by "some well-funded Astroturf outfits from the permanent lobbying class inside the Beltway," one would think they would mention this blatant connection to the White House in initially reporting the story. Handing out signs is comparable to handing out lab coats, after all.

The whole photo-op stinks of Astroturf. But apparently manufactured showings of support are all well and good, but manufactured showings of dissent are off limits.

a STAGED photo-op? what will they think of next? a device with which you can send all your stupid ramblings to a whole bunch of anonymous morons in the whole world?
