The 70's,economically, was the mark of an end of an era. Which had nothing to do with Carter.
The 70's ended with the beginning of our current corporatocracy.
Soon came NAFTA.
Soon came the "debt as income" economic system
Soon came the change from the working middle class as the center gear of our system to the investment class as the center.
Soon came CEO's making 1000 times more than employees.
Soon came the closing of factories of all kind across the nation.
Soon came the slow and painful dying of small businesses.
Soon came the end of pensions
Soon came wage stagnation, and even wage decline
and on and on.
