Education is the responsibility of the states. Here in NJ, there are several departments with the NJDOE that promote minority issues. There is Affirmative Action and the Office of Minority Teacher Recruitment, amongst others. There are programs and regulations designed to enhance "educational equity" and close the achievement gap. We have "Abbott schools" that receive a disproportionate amount of taxpayers dollars to raise minority test scores.

None of it is working of course. But I'm sure the feds will be able to do a better a job.

This is nothing more than political pandering to black voters by our divider in chief. He is going after sub-groups like women, gays, Hispanics, etc. in order to secure the election in Nov.

Not only is this a campaign move, it will also serve his goals of increasing federal workers, and taking control of our schools.

Governmental agencies must create new regs. and policy recommendations every few months in order the justify their existence. I shudder to think how fucked up this will be.

This has NOTHING to do with black children.

The boy is just doing what he thinks is right...create some government jobs and bring all of the black voters back under his wing. He alienated many black voters with his embracing of gay marriage. He wants those votes back so he has to do something aimed at giving blacks something that others don't get.



Before you know it he'll create another Czar position...to rule over NASA and make the Muslims feel good about their contribution to science and technology. He wants their vote too.

He also alienated many black voters who are small business owners and entrepreneurs. It will be interesting to see how he gets those voters back.

Why an African American Education Office? The Department of Education was just for whites? Were they ignoring the the black population? I don’t recall the Department of Education being called the White Department of Education. That would be discriminatory, just as the African American Education office certainly is!

This is supposed to be for ill prepared blacks to become better prepared for future education? Is the a dilemna only peculiar to blacks? There are disadvantaged whites and other minorities around as well! The Department of Education cannot meet their needs and should we have a White Education office, a Hispanic Education Office? An Asian Education Office?
