Obama Campaign Attacking Stay At Home Mothers!!! Smooth Move!

Which raises another question, did she have cancer and multiple sclerosis or not?

Even if Ann Romney COULD work, she couldn't work.

Which wouldn't impact the veracity of the statement at all.

If you people want to take the approach that people should not be attacking a woman for not being able to take care of her kids, due to cancer, then that's fine and dandy.

I'll agree with you there.

However, the point that she would then have no insight into the lives of working women would be true. Would it not?

Oy vey!! I see you've never "worked" as a volunteer have you?? Hate to tell you this but not only is raising 5 boys a lot of work, so is being a volunteer. Neither pays money but the bonuses are priceless. :eusa_shhh:

Yes, and he hadn't in the private sector for any appreciable amount of time, and is quoted in his book "Dreams Of My Father" likening being in the private sector as being "behind enemy lines..."

So... working in the public sector isn't working?

Hmm... Better tell the Marines that they're lazy then.

In MY opinion? NO other than the Military.

I am talking about politicians sport.

Nice try at trying to corner me.

*Jackass*

Just to add........cops, firemen, teachers are public sector too. So are the garbage men. All work hard in general, with a few lazy ones (just like i'm sure the military has a few lazy bad apples). I get your point though. Elected politicians are NOT the same "work" as the military, or cops, firemen, etc.

How much you all want to bet the GOP started this Mrs. Romney argument because of the recent polls showing that Romney is suffering a 19 point gender gap with women?

Are you suggesting that Hilary Rosen is a GOP operative?

Doesn't say much for the democratic selection process does it?

Of course not. That is the silliest thing I ever heard of. Do men have no insight at all into the lives of women who stay at home or who work? Shoudn't men keep their traps shut when they speak for abortion rights since they don't birth babies? Should't gay men never become transsexuals because they really have no insight into being women and mothers?

Women who stay home are not sequestered from the world. Gloria Steinem once said that women who work at home are the most undervalued in the world. She was right. Women have been devalued forever. It's why men denied women the right to vote. They stay home and have no insight into how the world works.

What derogatory patronizing claptrap! This ONE thing just might cost obama the election. I'm glad it happened. Now obama is going to get, at the very least, a second look and that look is that obama has been feeding women a line since day one.

Yeah... Which would be a good point, if it weren't for one simple fact:

The reason that this came about in the first place was that Mitt Romney specifically stated that he relied on his wife's "expert opinion" when it came to the economic hardships women face...

Which means that Romney has no idea what the hell is going on in the lives of working women, which was the original point.

Duh.

And really, enough with the insulting terms. Do I insult you people when I respond? No, I think not.

The military faught wars and made us free, unions faught labor wars and made the American Great Big Middle Class what it is today. Or what it was before Bush got his hands on the wheel. Him and Tom Delay. Not to mention Newt and Clinton's NAFTA. And it all started with Reagan actually when he took on the air traffic controllers. Bush just took it a step further and Romney wants to finish the job of destroying the middle class.

Volunteer for what?

How many hours did she clock a week as a "Volunteer".

And, by definition, being a "Volunteer" is not work. It's doing what you choose to do, when you choose to do it.

Man, you people and your insults. You're just downright rude.

And, just so you know, insults don't help your argument. They just make you look less credible.

Be that as it may. Are you saying people in public office don't work? Wow, that is an interesting insight into the way your brain works.

So, in your opinion, the President just kind of sits round in the White House pool all day sipping on Mai Tais?

Thank you Shallow we have a winner! Of course the liberal attack comes from one of the most clueless liberals on the board! The rich can stay home and raising kids is easy that teaches nothing about life's lessons. Tell that to Al Gore, I think his son was just arrested again for another drug charge!

Also foolish little man, the Romney's had their first kid in 1970, the second in 1971, third in 1975. During this time they were poor just out of college married couple renting a $75 a month basement apartment, scraping by like the rest of us!

Romney got a consult job after law school in 1975 and made decent money, but was part of the middle class!

Plenty of 'pitting' preceded Romney's profits | Deseret News

It wasn't until 1977 that be joined Bain & Company. He worked hard and making in the $100Ks. Upper middle class)

He finally stated his own company in 1983 (not his son's were 13, 12, 8, 5 & 2), but he didn't start to see real success from it until 1986 (his son's were 16, 15, 11, 8 & 5)!

Plenty of 'pitting' preceded Romney's profits | Deseret News

After that Romney's Bain Capital went on to make him tens of millions of dollars. Yet for a good chunk of the time, the Romney's were raising their children from modest beginnings and in middle (later upper middle) class settings!

Lastly I would bet 100 to 1 that VAST VAST majority of stay at home moms are from MIDDLE CLASS families. Heck even if you did it by percentage, but I bet the percentage of stay at home moms in the middle class beats the upper class!

Mitt Romney was never poor.

I've been poor......being poor is overrated.

I've been poor. Poor to the point of being envious of today's poor who have it mightly comfortable.

However, there are those who see the car, the nice place to live, the law degree, and they say "Your daddy gave you everything. You came from a rich family. You never had to work. Everything was handed to you."

Pffft. No wonder I just despise them.

Hello! We all heard it straight from Hilary Rosen's mouth. Then she comes back and tries to defend it, changing her mind, backpedaling, etc.

Here's a new flash, Silly Boo-Boo, nobody, but nobody really gives a shit what you liberal wackos think about anything. The vast majority of us continuing on living our lives and we know what is going on in our own communities without watching it on the TV news and are doing, driving, eating, burning, buying guns, all as we damn well please. If anything we strive to do that which pisses liberals off, it's such fun and it isn't difficult, that's the fun of it, it's so easy. I am positive that Ann Romney is not losing any sleep over this. It's not worth it. You liberals aren't worth losing sleep over, worrying about or anything else. For the most part you are ignored. You disgust us, but we tune you out.

Democratic strategist Rosen apologizes for attack on Ann Romney | Fox News
Democratic strategist and CNN contributor Hilary Rosen apologized Thursday to Ann Romney, wife of presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, for criticizing her choice to be a stay-at-home mother.

"I apologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended," Rosen said in statement.

And she is dropped like a hot potato here...
Top Obama campaign officials then took to Twitter in an attempt to distance themselves and the re-election effort from Rosen's comments.

“I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a tweet.

Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod tweeted: “Also Disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney. They were inappropriate and offensive.”

Lots of rich people today in fact came from very poor backgrounds and that is why they are rich, they were bound and determined NOT to be poor. My husband and i are not rich by any means, and we only live in a 1500 sq foot house, but it is 10 times better than anything either one of ever lived in as a child. We are better than our parents.

How much can you afford to lose?

Attacking the rich Romney's is not attacking all stay at home moms. This is just spin and you guys trying to control the conversation. Fuck Mrs. Romney. You guys are attacking working women. Lot more of them than stay at home moms.

I want to see Romney's college loans. Did he even have any or was college paid in full? And who got him his first job? How did he afford that little apartment? Who paid for his first suits? Bet he had a trust fund or fat start up bank account and I'm sure daddy helped get him his first gig.

Just like Bush was part owner in the Texas Rangers. How did he come up with his share? The public tax payer you say? Why isn't that socialism. Oh it is. Reverse socialism. Socialize the losses and privatize the profits. Hypocrites.

Yes it is. It's the entire ROOT of the attack...to get to Romney...go after his wife.

You Statists have been caught.

Surprise Surprise, Hilary Rosen says SHE was attacked mercilessly because - ya ready. Sit down. Take a deep breath.

She's a lesbian.

Democrats Respond: Conservatives Are Attacking Rosen For Lesbian Parenting

She can't possibly be just stupid. She has to be a stupid lesbian!

What did you know first, that Rosen was a fool, or a lesbian?

I knew she was a fool. She had to tell people she's a lesbian.
