How about countries that pay for their own GD defense for a change.

Dear idiot mine: You have absolutelly not any idea what you try to speak about. The USA pays nothing for the defense of other nations. That's only a stupid nonsense idea from Donald Trump who plays the "We are the poor victims - vote for me" card.

Foolish thread.
Russia is in this war in the Ukraine only because Zelensky constantly tried to violate treaties, join NATO, and put nukes on Russia's border.
And the claim that Putin wanted to colonize the Ukraine in to a Russian empire would be proven totally wrong if nukes were used.
Because a radioactive Ukraine would be useless to Russia as an imperial colony.

Russia is the biggest country of the world with more than enough resources and a relativelly low number of inhabitants. They don't need colonies. I guess in a more serios conflict where the war in the Ukraine will escalate and will lead also to a war in Russia then will happen what a Russian general once said to the Soviet: "Then the Chinese will come in little groups of millions over our border".

“So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong, and it goes against everything that we stand for.”

Alternative to NATO? Why do we even need NATO anymore? Russia is not USSR. Who are we supposed to be defending?

Ukraine did everything in its power to provoke a reaction from Russia and they got a very light spanking for it

The War in Ukraine is not going well for Putin. The question is, how desperate will Putin get to stay in power or defeat Ukraine? We know he will brutalize Ukrainian civilians with bombs, tanks, artillery, and missiles. But that won't stop Ukrainians from defending their homeland. So what other options will Putin consider? Nuclear weapons?

This OP is looking at the options Putin may be considering, and trying to put up a response or deterrence for the most serious.
Can NATO put up credible threats that would prevent Putin from using his nuclear weapons?

So "what if" Putin does "this", can NATO commit to doing "that"?
What responses do you support?
Are there better responses?

Dear Dumbass: What you spend on defense is how they figure what your contribution to NATO is. Plus, the US pays over 21% of NATO's budget.

Which countries spend most on defense?

In terms of the proportion of its GDP (the total value of goods produced and services) allocated to defense expenditure, the US spends more than any of the other 29 Nato countries.
In 2020, it's estimated that the US spent just over 3.7% of its GDP on defense, while the average for Nato's European members (and Canada) was 1.77% of GDP.

The United States also pays for 24% of the United Nations costs.

Dear Dumbass:

Always nice to meet someone who is not a diplomat - except he is an idiot.

The budget of the NATO is about 1-2 billions and I heard the USA pays the same as Germany is paying although Germany has only 3% of the size of the USA and only 25% of the population of the USA.

Do you? The regular budget of the UN in 2022 is 3.12 billions. So you would pay 750 millions. Poor USA. Dagobert Duck's tears will overflow your country.

Interesting in this context:

Adoption of voluntary financing arrangements for the UN’s regular, peacekeeping, and specialized agencies budgets would almost certainly lead to underfunding from other countries. For example, the UN’s voluntarily financed humanitarian and global health activities, far less controversial than the organization’s peacekeeping and human rights work, are perennially short of need. In 2021, UN humanitarian agencies and partner organizations needed a total of $37.7 billion to provide aid to 174 million people in 60 countries. At the end of the year, however, they had only received $17.2 billion, or 46 percent, of the total they requested.

The USA is a country in the size of a continent with a relativelly high population: 330 millions. And you are not shy to say such totally stupid sentences because you think an average US-American is stupid and will automatically vote for Donald Trump on reason of xenophobia.

Or you will deliver finally some of the F35 fighters which we ordered from you and German pilots will bring "blind" and "per pedes" with them conventional bombs and/or US-American nukes at any place in Russia which we like to destroy. And afterwards we will say the Polish did do so because we like to see us laughing and their pale faces.

I don't give a shit what you heard.
The big deal that arose when Trump visited NATO headquarters (and was a source of criticism in the media) was the fact that the US spends more on NATO's budget than 29 other NATO members combine. Trump told them they needed to spend more on their own defense and contribute their fair share to NATO's budget.
Pelosi broke the law by going behind his back and traveled to Brussels and assured them that she was going to get rid of Trump (This is sedition....a criminal conspiracy....or an insurrection)....after which Trump pulled her military airlift privileges and made her fly back with the rest of the unwashed on a commercial flight.

And if you don't stop talking like an ignorant asshole hack...I'm going to put you on ignore.

Seems to me you suffer a Trumperitis - that's a special infection which makes aggressive people brainless or brainless people aggressive.
