Protesters at the Jan. 6 rally are facing lengthy prison sentences for walking into the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., even though video shows security officers inviting them in. In at least one instance, a man was sentenced for crimes on Jan. 6 even though he wasn't even in Washington.
While there was some violence and those culprits should be caught and charged with the appropriate crimes, far more people are being sentenced and even held in prison without a trial for crimes they didn't commit. And video from that day shows it.

Meanwhile, two leftists in Atlanta who "mostly peacefully demonstrated" during the Black Lives Matters riots in 2020 and burned down a Wendy's restaurant, were given probation and no fines.

Unfortunately for the restaurant owners, it was the site of an officer-involved shooting that led to the death of Rayshard Brooks. He fell asleep in the drive-thru lane, and the police were called. Brooks attacked the responding police officer and tried to grab the officer's taser. The police officer shot and killed Brooks. This led to riots and burning the restaurants because, of course, Brooks was somehow "innocent" in the entire matter.

In an attempt to pacify the rioters, the Fulton County District Attorney charged the police officer with murder because giving rioters what they want, even if it is railroading an innocent person, always leads to peace, right? Thankfully, a special prosecutor eventually dropped the charges.

11 Alive reported recently that the two people charged with the arson accepted a plea deal and were sentenced to five years of probation. They will also be have to complete 150 hours of community service and pay a $500 fine. A third suspect was indicted for his role in the arson.

So what's the difference?

In the end, the only difference that counts is that the Atlanta rioters were rioting for a cause the left supports, including prosecutors, judges, and, of course, the media. If your violence, law breaking, and murder supports the left's agenda, it is allowed and forgiven.

The Guardian reported that close to 99% of the charges brought against Black Lives Matter rioters in 2020 were dropped by local prosecutors. These are people who nationwide caused an estimated $2 billion in property damage, not to mention people who were injured or killed during the "mostly peaceful" protests.

If your cause doesn't align with the left's agenda, and you say the wrong word or, in the case of the Jan. 6 protesters, follow the directions of Capital Hill police officers, you will be thrown in jail for as long as they can keep you.

This isn't justice. This is totalitarianism.

The result of the left putting its finger on the scales of justice hasn't been a righting of wrongs. It has deteriorated our justice system and allowed crime to flourish. This has led to major cities like Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle starting to collapse from the weight of their false beliefs.

Okay.

I'd say they figured the dead guy paid part of the tab, and that wasn't Washington, Federal court, but state court, and it was an insured burger joint, not the Capital while a joint session was in progress when they scaled the walls screaming "Hang Mike Pence" and "Bring out Pelosi". Get over it.

Who has not had a trial?

Let eagle 7-31 represent you and you will go to jail for a long time.
Nope. He's too republican by nature. I would never use a lawyer that only sounded half assed decent on the courthouse steps, but had not clue in a court of law, not even sounding like understanding the difference between state court and federal court. You could lose 62 court cases in a row at various levels, including the US Supreme Court, with representation like that.
