Northam Threatens “Consequences” For 2A Sanctuary Counties, Sheriffs

This is a fight we will gladly make. The sleeping tiger has been awakened.

Seems the governor has forgotten the Virginia state motto: Sic semper tyrannis.

For those who don't know, "Sic Semper Tyrannis" is Latin for "Thus always do we fail to investigate two charges of rape by our Dem Lt. Governor and ignore our black face Dem governor”.

Needless to say, Second Amendment ‘sanctuary’ is idiocy.

It’s a false comparison fallacy – states and local jurisdiction cannot be compelled to enforce Federal laws, including Federal immigration laws; It’s perfectly appropriate and lawful for states and local jurisdictions to not act in the capacity of immigration law enforcement.

Indeed, but they cannot interfere with federal enforcement.

That’s not the case with cities and counties within a state, which are subject to state laws – including state firearm regulatory measures.

The so-called ‘sanctuary’ ordinances are not legally binding, they do not carry the force of law, and in no manner ‘void’ state laws.

Do you think that matters should the people decide not to comply, and in fact resist?

Moreover, the issue has little to do with a sheriff enforcing a given firearm regulatory measure, as such laws apply to gun dealers and resellers.

For example, a state passes a measure raising the age to purchase a long gun to 21 – a measure a county sheriff incorrectly believes to be ‘un-Constitutional.’

The gun dealer is going to follow the law and not sell to someone under 21, whether the sheriff approves or not.

In addition, if a sheriff fails to follow a firearm regulatory measure that applies to law enforcement, the sheriff can be sued by a private party and held liable for any gun crimes committed the result of the sheriff’s failure to follow the law.

The Second Amendment ‘sanctuary’ movement is solely about partisan politics, having nothing whatsoever to do with the Constitution or the law.

This has to be the dumbest Governor in the US. He is opening Pandora’s box and he is not going to like what happens.

I'm sure that comforts you, but this is not going to end the way Virginia Democrats want it to end.

It's one of those puzzlements......folks flee states like Cali, NY, NJ to states like Virginia and Texas......but bring the virus with them.

In Virginia’s case that’s where Deep State lives. If they could lop off a 25 mile radius around DC it would be a dark red state.

Just shows how little Democrats care about democracy. They think they have a mandate to impose their will upon everyone by threat of government violence.

The Democratic Party is the reason the Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment.

If he continues he is going to have a war on his hands. All he is doing is pissing a lot of people off and no one is going to listen to him.
