Non-Christians are kind of right about religion causing.. what? mental issues?

I was in the novus ordo "Catholic" Church for something like 23 years (longer if you count my early childhood Sunday-only Catholicism). It was far from being all bad or I would have gotten out sooner than I did. As some here know, I got out to join the Society of St Pius X Catholic Church, the truly Catholic "branch." Christ's Church should not have 2 branches, much less 60,000 (non-Catholics) but

it is what it is..

In any case, I see in hindsight how bad the NO Church is.. Again, not the whole thing but truth and error do not mix (well). Oil and vinegar can be mixed if you do it carefully.. and you can make mayonnaise. But if you leave mayonnaise out on a hot day.. well, u know what happens

The Church has had some "hot days".. to be sure. But the point I am trying to make in this moment is that your religion can drive you nuts.. and you don't even realize it is your religion doing it.. (sometimes).

I had some great experiences with Jesus in the NO Church but that was just because Jesus promised to be w ith us until the End.. Jesus is reliable, humans not.. I speak of Transubstantiation, the Real Presence. Also, there was at least one good priest along the way. Thank God for that.

When i say "mental illness" I am not talking about being certifiably insane. I just mean that you find yourself .. I dunno.. getting mad at God for what humans are doing wrong, etc.. been there.

So anyway, I guess this is a thread about bad (or at least uncomfortable) experiences in a certain religious community.. not to tear down any said community but.. just a place to air grievances and maybe get somewhere in how to deal with.. whatever.

Lack of religion causes far more "mental illness" than religion (even not-so-great religion)

and when a whole society has no or virtually no "religion" .. everyone is mentally ill... which we have no problem believing when we look around us..

It doesn't take a huge decline in believers of God to do it. In the U.S. we still have a large majority of religious believers. Yet, with a small drop off, more and more people can't even decide what a woman is. More and more atheists think it's a good thing to show pornography to little children. And, look how many are still running around with worthless masks on them.

the last thing re masks:

people do this --wear masks-- because they do not read up on the issue and they refuse to watch news.. (real news, that is). They don't even watch fake news much but they seem to be watching that more than (or instead of) real news. I have observed that most people, at least in public places where there is a tv on playing the news.. do not watch it. I always seem to be the only one (though I don't watch cnn.. unless that is all there is.. and then only to critique them)

so yeh... people don't know such things as:

masks don't work unless you are talking about those N95 things that most people do not want to wear and for good reason

most people survive the virus. I have heard of a 103 yr old, 109 year old and 116 yr old who survived.

Then there is this: A lot of deaths were officially labeled Covid when the person died WITH covid but NOT of covid!

And I could go on and all

Then there is this about the vax: it doesn't work. Getting the vax has not prevented people from getting the virus OR spreading it.

Fauci is a big liar.. and he is going to (we hope) be held accountable.. retirement or not

Lol most people understand basic biology before age 6. Sex is biology... Adults understand that gender is psychology.

Anyone who thinks Jesus is crazy doesn't know the first thing about him. those kind have never read the Bible or been to church or not in a long time anyway. Of course you won't know Jesus (and therefore will say goofy things about Him) if you never do those kind of things.

I always know when you have been trumped. You always leave out facts and just spew inuendoes. Gender fluid is something that is recently been thrown out into the media by the Democrats. It serves to get the young people riled up for elections to gain votes. If your gender is female, it is easy to know by the protruding chest and the missing penis. Also, there is a distinction between male and female DNA as well. Democrats are gender confuse for political reasons and their attacks on God.

This assumes they think at all (about Jesus)

It seems to me (and I don't know enough atheists to say this but it seems that) the less you know about Jesus, the less you believe in HIm and the more you know about Jesus, the more you accept Him and to accept Him is to accept that He is God ("If you have seen Me you have seen the Father")

A lot of atheists ignore Jesus because they know He will require them to change their lives and they do not want to do that.

If people study Vatican II, especially if they study the multiple decades of Catholicism that preceded it, they will understand better what is wrong with the world we live in today. As goes the Catholic Church, so goes the entire world.

The Catholic Church went off the rails at Vatican II and thereafter. But in a way, it didn't. I am speaking of the Francis Church which is NOT the true Catholic Church. Archbishop Lefebvre of happy memory preserved the True Catholic Church, the Society of St Pius X. There is no need to pay attn to the francis one (unless you are into studying end times stuff, which normally, I kind of am not).
