No pat downs for Boehner

I'm surprisingly unconcerned.

I give the orange one props for going commercial. I don't care if he goes through security or not. It would uselessly slow down the security line and has the potential to delay flights even more. He's not a security risk. Well, to the airplane at least.

what do you think the actual savings will be between flying commercial with all his staff and flying private? it's not like they're going to be sitting in coach.

i'm not big on meaningless symbols... and it's all well and good that he never took "earmarks".. what percentage of our budge is comprised of earmarks? something negligible?

again.. .more meaningless symbolism... but it means he never did anything for his constituents.

I think it's a really good idea. Big savings to what Pelosi did, she really went over board. This action also will contribute to the integrity of commercial flying.

Updated Representative John A. Boehner, soon to be the Speaker of the House, has pledged to fly commercial airlines back to his home district in Ohio. But that does not mean that he will be subjected to the hassles of ordinary passengers, including the controversial security pat-downs.

As he left Washington on Friday, Mr. Boehner headed across the Potomac River to Reagan National Airport, which was bustling with afternoon travelers. But there was no waiting in line for Mr. Boehner, who was escorted around the metal detectors and body scanners, and taken directly to the gate.

You mean he didnt assault the TSA? Shocking!!!
Assault???

Hardly (that's not-hardly, for you Bush-fans)!!!

The last thing the flying-public needs, is to tolerate is some cryin'/slobberin' drunk, holding-up-the-line.

So a congressman who is a known non-terrorist should get patted down, thus slowing up shit even more? :cuckoo:

This whole tsa pat-down and scanning shit is ridiculous.

Profile then pat-down/scan those people and leave the rest of us alone. Fuck.

Might want to read the law. So if Obama flew coach he should get a pat down too?

You are fucking insane.

On his return trips to DC at the very least due to the law that states a sitting member of congress can not be impeded in anyway while going to Congress for congressional business......

Once again RETARD, no senior Government official gets patted own, from ANY party. ANY democrat that flies commercial gets the EXACT same privilege. Of course that isn't liberal worth news right?
He wasn't going to Congress...he was going home.

The law applies both parts of the trip if Congress is in session.

Wait lets make this simple, shall we? You are opposed to members of Congress traveling unhindered on commercial aircraft, is that true?
Please show me in the constitution where it is stated that Congress people get special treatment in this manner. Then explain when you turned into a Stalinist that supports special treatment for government officials but none for free marketers and citizens.

At his own expense? Link?

What right does he have that I don't have? Why am I looked at as a potential terrorist while he is not? Special treatment is special treatment.

the tons of privileges that congress critters and senators get is huge and the number of them they abuse it just as long. I don't see this as an abuse.

The guy could be taking a Gulfstream G-5 whatever it is, at significant expense. If he was flying the Gulfstream he would not be getting searched either.

He flys commercial, they all get allowances to fly between their districts and DC. None of them should be and I don't think it makes any sense at all to search them, do you, really?

Maybe they can concentrate on someone who IS a threat? ( well other than the threat they pose by running the gov. that is)?

I don't see an issue here.

It is a LAW. Or are you now contending laws are not allowed and that the Government can do nothing?

I notice you ignored the point. Are you as outraged that DEMOCRATS also avail themselves of these privileges?

Are you really so stupid that you think a member of Congress is a threat as a terrorist?

We're kind of fucked if a member of congress ever decides he doesn't like this country anymore and hides a bomb vest under his suit while getting on an airplane.

We might actually be less fucked if the congress-critters don't make it to DC to attend a session of congress.

the radioman post applies to them all, I didn't see a clause opting any party affiliation out. Unless of course you can provide an example of a dem. volunteering for a pat down, you know,so they can identify with the regular people?

Is there ANYTHING you don't see in terms of partisanship?
