Former Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has rebuked Democrats working against the No Labels Parties effort to secure a third party on state ballots.

Nixon was a very popular Democrat Governor in a state that moved steadily to right over the last 25 years.

"Nixon, a 67-year-old lawyer, is stepping back into national politics for the first time since leaving office in 2017 and will serve as No Labels' director of ballot integrity. He said in an interview that he was drawn to the role after learning that well-funded groups aligned with Democrats were working to stop No Labels from securing ballot access in key states.

He said that those seeking to block the group's right to appear on the presidential ballot are attacking a pillar of American democracy."

RINOS and Never Trumpers are delighted. :)

It has no hope of electoral victory. It only has the hope of playing spoiler and (thusly) damaging the brand of "no labels" going forward. The high drama (or comedy if you prefer) lays in who gets the No Labels nomination for President. Are they in favor of abortion rights? If they are for choice; that hurts the democrats. If they are anti-choice; that hurts the republicans. No other issue is going to matter for many.

Its going to be interesting to see how the big money reacts to a 3rd party.

There's a reason the Right is financially supporting a spoiler party.

Follow the money: No Labels can’t hide its right-wing ties

If I were a money guy on the Right, I would push "No Labels." Trump and many other righty candidates will have no chance, otherwise.

Kind of interesting, isn't it, that the party who claims to be for democracy and against vote suppression wants to suppress a political party so that voters won't be able to vote for them?

I think a legitimate third party would hurt the Democrats more than the GOP. For Democrats, it’s always been easier to battle one opponent in the GOP. Now, they would have to fight two. Couple that with RFK Jr. mounting an internal challenge and the declining number of Blacks and Hispanics voting Democrat, we might have ourselves an interesting Election in ‘24.
