So in connection with the shocking Gruden resignation, evidence has come to light that two NFL football types exchanged pictures of two topless NFL cheerleaders. The linked article, written by a former NFL cheerleader herself makes the veiled accusation that the photo(s) in question were FORCED. There is no evidence in the public record that this is the case; I suspect it is entirely made up.

Because if they were not FORCED, then where is the exploitation that is at the core of the writer's complaint? If they were not forced then these two lovelies voluntarily posed for the pictures (I haven't seen them), and re-publication of the photos was entirely predictable...indeed inevitable, and the babes have no complaint.

And there's more. What (the fuck) IS an NFL cheerleader? She is a young woman who has invested years in developing a marginally marketable skill, who wishes to be ogled, and enjoys the high profile of being associated with America's national sport. Further, most of their on-field activity is (a) ignored by the vast majority of the fans in the stands, (b) not clearly visible to those of the fans in the stands who would actually want to see them (their personal friends and family), and (c) largely comprised of lewd, quasi-sexual gyrations having the pretense of cheering for their team. The very idea that these young women could be sexually exploited by others when they spend their entire careers exploiting their own conspicuous sexuality for (minimal) financial gain.

If NFL cheerleaders are "not safe," there is an EASY solution. Eliminate the cheerleading squads altogether.

Baltimore Ravens cheeleaders on the sideline.

Yeah, yeah, yeah  And you're opposed to sports in general. You've beaten this dead horse a thousand times, Poindexter.

Don't look. Leave that up to me ...

On the other side, here's some other perspective and a series of articles focused on the group that started it all ...
