Next year Republicans will be defending 24 Senate Seats, Dems only 10

Right, and Bottleneck Reid has nothing to do with nothing getting done now.

Just like he had nothing to do with nothing getting done before he lost his seat.

Put your hopes on Franken replacing Mitch.

Everyone should have a dream.

Congress has gotten things done in the past, in spite of not having an overwhelming majority. All it takes is a little compromise
If Republicans are willing to give the President one third of what he wants, they could get two thirds of of what they want

But Republicans are content to waste their short period of time running Congress

Lets see...how many repeal Obamacare votes and Benghazi investigations can we get in?

How many Obamacare votes made it past Harry's desk?

How many Employment bills are still sitting on it?

Compromise is a TWO WAY street.

(Unless you're a dem, as Harry has proven)

How many Obamacare votes had the same 60 filibuster votes that the Dems needed for their bills?

What are you talking about?

Reid wouldn't even put them UP for a vote.

Democratic bills that did not have 60 votes did not reach the floor either. Why should Republican bills receive different treatment?

How many "Kill Obamacare" bills had 60 votes to clear filibuster?

When did Reid ever lose his seat?

Or was that just another of your wet dreams?

He may still think he's Majority Leader, but it's just a delusion.

He lost the POSITION of majority leader but he never lost his Senate SEAT.

Once again the paucity of your hom skewlin is on display.

Still whining because I torn you up WITH YOUR OWN WORDS, in a different thread?

That clown face in you avatar isn't making fun of a Republican candidate,

It's who you really are.

Seat, position?

No real difference.

He's still bottlenecking legisltion

Reid did get Immigration Reform and ENDA passed in the Senate, it's the House that held things up.

Calling for help?

You could use some.

Mitch McConnell will be a one term majority leader

Can't wait for Harry Reid to come back

Reid is retiring. :(

Bummer

Al Franken!

Franken will be lucky to hold onto his seat, much less take McConnells place

Franken was reelected in 2014. He isn't up for reelection until 2020. He is however unlikely to become Majority Leader.

Maybe Vice President

Democrats would only need 16 to take over an uncontested Senate.
6 to win back the majority

No, they would need 4 to win if they win the Presidency, 5 without it.
I think it would be more likely for Democrats to take back the Senate, if they lose the Presidency - and that relies on either Hillary or O'Malley making a lot of mistakes on the campaign (and so far Hillary has made quite a few).

This is why it is hard to understand the ineptness of Republicans

They will control both houses for only a short two years. This is their chance to actually get their agenda passed. But they seem content to play defense against the Democrats
What is their agenda? They seem good at turning every one against them.

Right now, it appears to be repeal Obamacare and get to the bottom of Benghazi. If so, they will accomplish nothing

If they want to actually accomplish something, they can begin with fixes to Obamacare, tax reform, immigration and energy strategy

There is plenty of middle ground there if they want to reach it

Republicans held both houses under Bush for nearly 5 years. They used reconciliation three times. Do you remember what they used it on?

If they "fix" Obamacare, it will only mean screwing over millions of Americans, like they want to do with Social Security and Medicare.

Look at farmers as far as immigration reform not to mention other states and how their economies have been affected:

U.S. Farmers Urge Changes to Immigration Law Amid Labor Shortage TIME.com

Tax reform? The Bush tax cuts cost trillions. They were supposed to create millions of jobs. Only the jobs they created were in China. And energy strategy? They are famous for giving oil companies unneeded subsidies.

I don't know if the country can survive more GOP policies. Do you know of any that will actually help the US? Not sound bytes or phrases.

If you look at what the GOP leadership has done in the past, what makes you think they will be successful in the future.

Survey GOP executives want immigrant labor not voters The Daily Caller

How does the base square with what business wants?

That is curious. Business wants immigrants, Republicans don't. Republicans think of themselves as the "party of big business". Is the GOP going to alienate big business?

Notice that when you post "facts" with links, Republicans run off? All they have are the insults.

Who do Republicans think will be voting for them? Jethro and Ellie Mae. Not if you take away their health care and food stamps.

Jethro maybe, but considering Ellie Mae is deceased, she's more likely to vote for a democrat
