Newt Gingrich 2012 Campaign Quote Thread

I don't buy that because you've been in the tank for Romney here for months. At least Jake Snarkey is honest about it.

You want to talk about delusion? Jake Starkey is more of a Republican than you are by miles. You yet again confirmed this at the end of your post.

Final Point, yeah, I can't do much about how you people are destroying America with your greed. YOu are like the French Gentry who loved the status quo until the angry mob showed up with a guilotine, and they wondered what they did wrong.

So let's review.

Tell me again why you're not a whiny liberal?

Because I live in a different world than you do.

I don't live in a world where we stroke ourselves for manipulating the real estate market.

I live in a world where one of my co-workers, a 60 year old grandmother, is going to let go today because they've "offshored" half the jobs at my plant.

I live in a moral universe where I realize your greed has consequences.

In your world, black is white, up is down, wet is dry, and day is night too?

You've just rationalized why you're a liberal, not a conservative.

Thanks.

you might want to rethink that moral compass. no one moral thinks children should work cleaning toilets so that an adult doesn't have to get paid for the job. and if you were really worried about them taking jobs away from people, you'd never support that anyway.

well, given that i'd never vote for a repub on the federal level until they stop engaging in rightwing social engineering and sucking up to the radical religious right, i'd disagree with toro about voting for romney. but having watched him and others here post for way more than a couple of months, i'll say that it's not that he "breathes down romney's neck", but if you think the people running against romney in the polls are stupid (and they have been) or their policies are bizarre... then you'd point out those flaws.

that's what happens when you run in the big leagues.

You see, I hear people on your side of the room say that a lot, but what "social engineering" have they really accomplished since 1980.

Abortion is still legal.
Homosexuality is a lot more accepted now that when I was a kid.
You still can't pray in school.
Your kids are still being taught they evolved from Monkeys.

Sorry, I mean some of you carry on like we are five minutes away from being "the Republic of Gilead" from Atwood's A Handmaid's Tale, but frankly, from my perspective, things have really gone in the other direction in my 49 years. My parents would be horrified by what goes on today.

First, he didn't say he was going to "take away their jobs". You might not have six union thugs standing around stratching their buts until 10 AM until they get working. You might have one or two doing the hard work and the kids doing the easy work and learning the value of work, pride in their community, etc.

Honestly, I compare that to the OWS people, who apparently think the rest of us should pay for their college because they are "entitled", and I wonder where things have gone wrong.

I was brought up with a sense of "right and wrong", something that you seem to have avoided in your upbringing, apparently.

You were brought up with a sense of right and wrong.

And you are a RINO

BTW liberal and RINO aren't pejorative to me. But whiny is though.

Edited to not offend liberals.

Sure we do.

We just don't think keeping incompetent teachers on the job because they belong to a union is a good idea.

I was a sergeant in the Army for a number of years. I got to see these stumps first hand. "Private Snuffy, please write out a statement about how you wrecked the truck". Usually, what I got back was not only unreadable, but not even useful. After a certain point, I just interviewed them, wrote out a statement for them and had them sign.

People who enlist in the Army out of high school usually aren't the brightest bulbs to begin with.

Newt on poor children:

“They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash’-unless it’s illegal”

Newt's awesome! Not only is he wicked smart, he's a walking repository of never-ending material for late night comics. I might support him just for the entertainment value!

Now that he is a legitimate candidate for President, it's time to start taking him seriously. Forget his past. Let's focus on the former Freddie Mac lobbyist's current musings. Let's start with this one.

The CBO ...

... is a reactionary socialist institution which does not believe in economic growth, does not believe in innovation and does not believe in data that it has not internally generated.

Outstanding!

The more I see things develop in this campaign, the more I am beginning to believe the Dems are going to roll to victory in a very big way, including taking back the House.

And this just today:: Sounds like classic Newt. What did he do at Freddie Mac?? I will tell you, he was using his connections with the high rollers to keep Freddie Mac in good standing, while they were killing us, with congressional representatives. That's what he was doing and he never one time warned them of the disaster that was taking place, not once. That's a lie he stated during the debate.

And you signed right up after college, right?

Actually, the military screens people. They have something called an ASVAB to determine what people might actually be smart enough to do.

I actually kind of respect the ones who joined the military, because despite how badly Public Education failed them, they were still trying to better themselves.

NO, you think it's perfectly acceptable to bet against real estate, avoiding using terms that a euphamism for "places people live and invest their entire lives in".

And the sad thing is, you can live with yourself...

Newt says you can go to Hawaii on food stamps.

Remember, this is the best food stamp president in history. So more Americans today get food stamps than before. And we now give it away as cash -- you don't get food stamps. You get a credit card, and the credit card can be used for anything. We have people who take their food stamp money and use it to go to Hawaii.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...ingrich/Gingrich-says-use-food-stamps-Hawaii/

When I was in the national guard, we had this one sergeant who had a tidy little business on the side trading food stamps for money.

I'm sure there are some people finding ways to scam the Link Cards in a similar way. After all, the government doesn't check to make sure it's only being used for food.

Funny, his foreign policy is the only one I tend to agree with......But as a baseline.

Honestly, if your Weird Mormon Robot has to use the crazy person to do his attacks for him, because he has no credibility on the issue of "flip-flopping", you know you might have a little problem....
