Read the source article last night. So much presumption by this Charlie Warzel fellow that his perception of political events is factual, such little self awareness to balance out that bias. I'd say the article is priceless, but sadly, it's pretty par for the course that is today's "journalism". He also keeps making arguments from this assumption that the memes in the Trump era were meant to drive right wing outrage, and then spelling out what would be the logical conclusion that the left needs to push proper, "righteous" progressive outrage to counteract the right wing's supposed monopoly on outrage.

One of my absolute favorite points:

"But Republicans don’t need to have a monopoly on outrage. Rather than the Trump variety of outrage and fear of the other, the correct blend of righteous progressive outrage on climate, inequality and corruption could compete with the virality of the MAGA message. Outrage, indignation and alarmism — sentiments proven to win online — can be harnessed by Democrats, provided they choose the right candidate."

This is a sad miscalculation, but a predictable one. Mainstream progressives such as this author seem to be blinded by their own emotion. They cannot help but label anything that they find offensive as objectively hateful. Therefore, when they see pro Trump memes ridiculing them, they assume that those memes are meant to stir up fear and hatred against them and those oppressed people that they claim to represent. In actuality, the majority of the popular Trump meme in 2016 were almost precisely the opposite of that: They were meant to ridicule the mainstream left's outrage, indignation and alarmism, partially via insults delivered directly by the memes themselves, and partially via the predictable self-righteous indignation with which the progressives responded.

This author is literally advising democrats to respond to the ridicule of their over-the-top progressive outrage. . . with MORE PROGRESSIVE OUTRAGE! I honestly hope the morons occupying the top three spots in the dem primary polls take this dude's advice. I'm already giddy with anticipation for Liz Warren's cringe brigade to start churning out content. This already has the feel of a middle aged public school administrator putting on a stand-up routine to encourage high school kids to stay off drugs.

LMFAO! Yes, offended is what the right is about Warren's impending meme squad. Yes, those are wails of outrage you're hearing, not contemptuous laughter, I PROMISE! That one meme she has on her site, about how "You Can Do A Lot With Two Cents", oh man, that had my face burning hot with rage and humiliation. And then when it was followed with the one that said, "Warren Has Memes for That", I found myself so irrationally furious that I nearly spontaneously combusted right here in front of my monitor!

The only thing I feel in greater measure than indignant frustration, when I look ahead to the comedic bloodbath that Warren doubtless has in store for those of us on the right, is fear.
