Musk may fire 75% of current Twitter employees

I'm fine with that. Not possible from the left though. They own most of the MSM and social media and want to keep it that way. Biden even had a hot line set up to the social media to inform them of misinformation posts, misinformation that was defined by the left.
The left controls most of government, education, media, scientific institutions, big business, social media meaning they can control and/or suppress what information the people see or hear and they do. Those who never consult the more conservative sources know only one side of the story and are completely ignorant in being able to draw an informed opinion about anything. Likewise equally ignorant are those who only read information from the extreme right who also distort what actually is and/or omit anything inconvenient to their narrative.

I don't want either to control the message and as a result be able to better exercise totalitarian control over the people. But as I believe--actually I KNOW--the Patriot vision to be what is best for everybody, all Americans and all of America, I applaud whenever our voices can be expanded.

But some of us are old enough to remember the total liberal meltdown when conservative talk radio exploded onto the scene, what a blast of fresh air that was, and how successful it quickly became. Demands for congress to censure or silence--demands for 'equal time' etc. etc. etc. didn't fly. It very likely saved America.

I am hoping Elon Musk's leadership is all Patriots hope for and that Twitter will become that forum that is the fresh air needed on social media.

Only a Mentally Ill America Hating Moron would draw a cartoon like that, and only a bathroom confused hair sniffing groomer would post it.
Why are you afraid of Free Speech? Why also are you for Bloody Joe Biden helping Iran sell Suicide Drones to Russia to kill Ukrainians with?
there is nothing to be afraid of from free speech, but in a private service, you dont have it, you of their terms of service.

The only reason you have any speech at all on social media is due to section 230.

Oh but it is. When Zuckerburg admitted he has aided and abetted Democrats to suppress information through censorship, when Twitter bans the President of the United States and other Republican politicians/political commentators for 'disinformation'--no Democrat Pol has ever been banned to the best of my knowledge--when algorithms are set to censure or silence Patriot voices but not liberal/progressive/Democrat ones, when there is a leftwing meltdown condemning Musk buying and changing Twitter, it becomes very political. The huge lion's share of content on Twitter is political.
This thread is not about Zuckerberg

That is likely an attempt a humor, but when the Babylon Bee, harmless as it is and pure parody, was suspended, it underscores how malicious the censorship at Twitter had become.

No way to verify, but I'm seeing on the Twitterverse today where Musk has fired the employee who suspended Donald Trump's account. Even if true, I doubt that action was decided by one person though.

His company now, he can do whatever he likes. He can go around banning left wing accounts. Twitter has always been awful, and it always will be. Maybe Musk will make it work, or maybe he'll lose $4 billion.
I dont want to see leftwingers suspended or banned either

Unlike libs I dont fear free speech

Amen and amen. The ones I want to see banned are those peddling illegal drugs, especially to kids, the porn sites that provide no warning to people opening their links, the obvious pedophiles or others encouraging criminal activity etc. I want suspended those who post malicious, cruel, untrue accusations against people, even those I really don't like and/or have no respect for.

Free speech means that all voices, short of libel and slander or promoting illegal activity, deserve to be heard with impunity. A free people can remain free only if they are allowed to be who and what they are and say/write what they think, believe, know no matter how wrong. I will show them how they are wrong, but I won't attack them personally for what they believe. That is what I recommend for everybody.

Twitter had become so bad that Patriots couldn't tweet certain words or concepts or names of products or their beliefs about climate change, gun policy, COVID, vaccinations, policy or emphasis on transgender or school curriculum without being restricted or suspended. Many were outright banned.

I once actually defended Pelosi that somebody had accused of something I knew she had never said. My tweet affirmed she never said it and I added, I wasn't saying she shouldn't be hung, but she should be hung for something she actually did. Got me suspended until I took down the tweet.

It's not your company so you don't get to make the rules.

Yes this belongs in Politics because there has been no transaction in recent history that has created more political reaction waves than Elon Musk's saga of becoming the primary, even sole owner of Twitter. It is talked about across the internet, on social media, in Congress. . .

And now it is being reported that his intent is to reduce the existing Twitter workforce by 75%. This is an economy move as Twitter currently nets between $1 and $2 billion per year compared to Facebooks almost $40 billion per year.

Those supporting this initiative generally come from the aspect that it will be mostly those scouring Twitter for rightwing accounts to censor or suspend who will be let go. (We don't know that, but that's the scuttlebutt.)

Those opposing it mostly seem to be afraid there won't be as much censorship or suspensions of those account on the right though they never say it quite that way. Their terminology is that there won't be as efficient monitoring of 'harmful' or 'misleading' information which is how they characterize the tweets of MAGA or others on the right.

Some like me would welcome ability for those on the right to exercise free speech without having to be so careful of each word or phrase, but my concern is there won't be censorship of the radical extremists on the right who just tweet insults, slurs, talking points, false memes etc. which are not at all helpful and are often detrimental to the MAGA public image and agenda.

Good savings!

The leftist meltdown over Twitter continues. Of course Jack Dorsey was still controlling Twitter as a multi-billionaire, but that was okay. He allowed, no doubt encouraged, suppression of conservative voices. But Musk being a billionaire is EVIL in that he says he won't do that.

Yes, Twitter employees had good jobs. That doesn't mean they all are needed to do the job though. However Elon may discover he needs more people than he thinks to monitor the criminal stuff on Twitter though as there are hundreds of thousands of tweets every minute across the Twitterverse via as many as 400 million users in maybe 100 different countries.
