Seems the rage takes place on the Left Coast, major eastern cities, and Washington, D.C. The rest of the country simply goes about every day business.

Here’s the America I’ve seen.

A couple of days ago, my neighbors were grilling and we chit-chatted over the fence. They shared some delicious southern barbecue with us, and I passed on some of the last, delicious late tomatoes to them. They had a Hillary Clinton sign in their yard when we moved in, but they still caught our dog Bella and brought her home when she escaped over the fence for a little walkabout.

We helped the neighbors on the other side of our house when the husband had a heart attack last year. We couldn’t do much, but we went over while they were waiting for the ambulance and took care of their pets during the hospital stay. Later, the wife brought us a cake. I have no idea for whom they voted and I don’t care. It was a delicious cake.

My landlady has bumper stickers all over her car with which I disagree. Some of them make me cringe internally, but I don’t feel obligated to point out her errors in critical thinking. I gave her a nice plant to thank her for letting us move in and she gave us a couple of pumpkins for the front porch. She brings dog biscuits for our pets every time she swings by to do a repair or collect the rent.

When I was in California, I was a part of the warmest network of homesteaders you can imagine. When there were wildfires, they opened up their fields and barns to others fleeing the flames with their livestock. We got together monthly to learn new skills and all “paid” the teacher with a homemade or homegrown goodie. When one homesteader broke her leg, we all took turns looking after her livestock until she recovered.

This is the America that I see. Neighbors being kind to neighbors. Communities that care about one another. People who don’t want to participate in the hysterical rage that we’re seeing all over the media.

How true, all this hysterical rage is only on TV in some far away place, and all my friends, neighbors and fellow local citizens that I have contact with prefer to keep it that way.

Anyway the national news industry needs "hysterical rage" to keep ratings and therefore profits up, so it does serve some purpose.

the GOP can make a few good commercials for swing areas using all of this footage. "These Are Your Modern Day Democrats" are you still deciding who to vote for?

Thank you so much for this! It is the America I see, too, but we seem to believe the exaggerations from the media instead of believing our own experiences. Strange.

That level of animosity generally only occurs in leftist stronghold cities. Unfortunately, one closest to me is one of them.

Exactly. I was chuckling watching CNN cover the Kavanaugh confirmation at the Supreme Court on Saturday, with the couple hundred protesters chanting "We Believe Her." You would have thought the Huns were on the battlements. Holy crow. It is actually true, the news industry fuels this, and how many times a day do you hear a political pundit refer to what a divided country we are? Maybe THEY're divided, but we are not.

I think the country as a whole is divided.

Always has been. People will rally when the country is attacked
but that is it.

I live in a County where not one Democrat was elected in the entire
county in 2016. Now some town may have elected a dogcatcher
or councilman where party affiliation is not shown on the ballot, but
that would be it.

The ballot was somewhat hysterical. Lots of R's...some D's...but more
NPA's than D's. (No Political Affiliation) The NPA's were just D's that
were lying.

We all get along here. That intimidation shit would not sit well here.
This is still the County of Willis McCall.

Yeah, most Americans aren't buying into the Democrat-manufactured hate hysteria. They're calling Bullshit on it. They're tuning it out.

Great post. Thanks.

yes--comparable to how the US voted
...illegals/fruitcakes/LGBTQ San Fran--Cali-NYcity/immigrant capital Cali/etc lose their minds/have nothing better to do than stir up crap/angry [ still ] at 2016 election/etc
...especially these dumb youngsters/college kids that think they will cure cancer by themselves--and no NOTHING of the real world

and even better!

MOST American are PRO gay rights!
gays are out EVERYWHERE!
on tv, in the military, in politics, entertainment...

they even have their own tv shows!

and they can marry!

pot is being decriminalized all over the country!

blacks, gays, women in PROMINENT POSITIONS in business, entertainment, politics, the military....

even conservatives would vote for a women!
or the right black.....maybe.....

everyone has sex outside of marriage
divorce is easy to get (just ask limbaugh and trump and ...well...just about every prominent conservative republican who has been married numerous times! )

christians and muslims still can't preach in public schools...
evolution is still being taught...
and women are asserting themselves in every aspect of life!

in so many ways America is VERY liberal and progressive and MOSTLY we all get along fine!

I was just thinking back to when Obama was president and remembering how decent and civil and well mannered conservatives were. They were NEVER angry and agitated just because NOBAMA the islamic traitor to America was pissing on our rights and our constitution and trying to take away all of our freedoms and make us become gay and eat quiche.....

no sir....

not them

they was level headed and polite!

I remember one conservative......he was SO polite....

he said to me...."YOU sir.....(see that? sir!....isn't that polite?) are a limp wristed liberal piece of slimy socialist shit...."...I was so impressed with his decency and civility......

They just save their hysterical rage for political forums like USMB.
Fascism and communism are just different ways to the same end, Neither supports Government of the people, by the people and for the people. If you don't go back to wherever and be happy there. Now add all the bodies stacked up by Both of the above and you get the real picture.

When did they destroy property, assault others, and/or get arrested en masse?
