More terrible news for Tesla

One car catching on fire is not news, just propaganda. And the sabotage and whatever else you can scare up dot-dot-dot brainwashed
if cars catching on fire isn't news, why do news outlets show them all the time on their broadcasts?

I haven't heard about painting their streets white, but using lighter colored asphalt has long been a safety feature used all across the country. Lighter color gives better reflection from headlights making night driving much safer. Are you against safer night driving?

Uhh....painting the streets white isn’t about safety stupid. It’s a lame effort to curb global warming. Why won’t liberals do a google search before posting? Is it because they like looking foolishly uninformed?

Are you saying more reflective road surfaces aren't safer at night? You should let road departments all across the country know that. They have used several different methods to do that since the mid 20th century.
if that were true, why aren't all roads white and what does this have to do with the OP? cars burning spontaneously?

There isn't money to paint the streets white you dummy. It costs money. Only mental cases think it is smart to use public $$ to paint streets white. Who supports that? Only people who don't own anything in life and have zero real responsibilities.:113::eusa_dance::eusa_dance:

Investing.com - Tesla is moving into a higher gear.
At least one Wall Street firm thinks so. Keybanc Securities says its research shows Tesla is producing more of its new Model 3 cars than previously forecast, which will boost revenue. The firm raised its estimate for Model 3 deliveries for the second quarter.
KeyBank also raised its revenue estimate, which is now higher than the Wall Street consensus.
Periodic concerns about Tesla meeting its production targets have dogged the automaker, which caused a selloff in its stock earlier this year. Keybanc reiterated its rating and stock price target, saying "there is significant premium in the stock."
Tesla just announced layoffs as part of a reorganization plan to cut costs.

Tesla Model 3 Production On The Rise

My, my, poor Tesla.

You think more reflective surfaces are free if they are installed when the road is new? There is a cost, and we don't have enough money to have all our roads that way. We have to prioritize where we spend our money.

I wonder how long it took for cars to replace horses after they were first introduced to the market.

It took less than 20 years. Electric cars have been around for just as long as ICE powered vehicles so your analogy is one of the biggest fails of all time.
The first ICE car was around 1885.
Horses disappeared from the US roads around 1939.
My maths isn't great but...hmmm...

I have been all over northwest, NEVER see asphalt based roads being painted or made white in production. The Asphalt roads are always BLACK.

Meanwhile some research are showing that it is a NEGATIVE benefit since the production of "white paint" is energy intensive and costly.

Not all cool pavements are created equal

EXCERPT:

"Cool pavements can help keep cities cool, right? Yes, but according to new research from the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), many reflective pavements have some unexpected drawbacks relative to conventional pavements when considering the entire life cycle of the materials.

Scientists in Berkeley Lab's Heat Island Group, in collaboration with the UC Pavement Research Center (UCPRC), the University of Southern California (USC), and thinkstep Inc., conducted life cycle assessments of conventional and cool pavements. Looking at the technologies over a span of 50 years, including manufacture, installation, use, and disposal/recycling, they found that the extra energy and emissions embodied in cool pavement materials usually exceed the expected energy and emissions savings from reduced space conditioning (cooling and heating) in buildings."
Painting the roads isn't about fighting climate change.
It's about cooling the urban environment to make it more comfortable to live.

According to who?

Los Angeles is painting some of its streets white and the reasons why are pretty cool
In the race to combat climate change, the city of Los Angeles is employing a surprising new tactic -- covering its streets in a grayish-white coating known as CoolSeal. It's sprayed onto the roadway with trucks, then spread across the surface with squeegees.
According to your own link.

CoolSeal, which is made by a company called GuardTop, helps to reflect solar rays off asphalt so that less heat is actually absorbed. And according to the Bureau of Street Services, the L.A. streets that have been rendered lighter in color with CoolSeal are 10 to 15 degrees cooler on average than the L.A. streets that have not. That, in turn, keeps the neighborhood from heating up quite as much. Buildings in the area don't need to use quite as much air conditioning, which can curb costs, benefiting residents' wallets and the environment.

By cooling the ambient air, lighter-colored asphalt can also help prevent heat-related illnesses and deaths. Its higher reflectivity can save on energy needed to illuminate streets and parking lots when the sun starts to set. And according to the EPA, the air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and water quality depletion driven by heat islands can be mitigated by cool pavements as well.

Doesn't matter. Painting asphault sounds funny, so all the advantages to doing it don't matter. You know how their minds work.

Actually, I would phrase that, we know how their minds don't work.

My goodness, poor old Elon is such a failure. His car company is producing the premier EV's in the world, some of which easily beat $2 million vehicles in performance for less than a tenth of that cost. His Space X launches over 50% of the orbitual launches in the world. His Boring company now has contracts for building his rapid transit system. He has more contracts for his grid scale batteries. Goodness sakes, how will be man face his failures. LOL.

Thankfully, there are only a handful of white roads in the country!:bye1::bye1:
