It's okay for a republican first lady to tell the US to kick their kids out of the home if they use drugs, but not how to eat healthy...

Drug use leads to crime and violence.

Funny thing is, its not like those poor kids are going to have to always eat good food. The stupid parents can still feed their kids donuts for breakfast and Pepsi/Cheetos for dinner.

The RW agenda here is to make kids fat, diabetic and kill them off young of heart disease.

I have also seen real school lunches and the photos are lies.

Is this school lunch for real?
A photograph of a skimpy school lunch is stirring outrage online, much of it aimed at first lady and fitness guru Michelle Obama.

An Oklahoma teen reportedly snapped the picture of her lunch and shared it with a TV station in Oklahoma City.

The lunch left more than the girl’s stomach grumbling.

Conservative blogs picked up the story, blaming new nutrition rules championed by Mrs. Obama for the teen’s meager meal.

Could this lunch really be the new standard?

Not really, Diane Pratt-Heavner at the School Nutrition Association said.

The meal technically meets the requirements of what students must take under new standards, but the teen should have been offered more, she said.

A cup of fruit and a cup of milk should have been on the menu to complete a meal with a minimum of 750 calories to comply with federal standards.

“This particular meal is not typical,” Pratt-Heavner said.

But as schools move from pizza and french fries to salads and sandwiches, students are complaining about getting hungry in the afternoon in some cases.

The School Nutrition Association wants the government to tweak the standards to allow more options in the cafeteria, while still keeping calorie maximums.

Here’s what must be on the menu in high schools:

1 cup of fruit

1 cup of vegetables

2 ounces of grain

2 ounces of meat or meat alternative

1 cup of milk

My kids school had a salad bar put in. If one thing Moochelle did do right was point the finger at crappy school meals. Any school system that serves high calorie low nutrition processed food and considers a potato a vegetable needs to have an overhaul. When my middle daughter graduated from high school I never saw so many fat kids in my life. The last thing those kids need is fatty chicken nuggets, french fries,peas and chocolate milk.

Kids aren't fat because of a school lunch program....they SIT all day and night at a computer is why they're storing calories. I couldn't eat hot lunch at school because it SMELLED so bad....but when I did I got nutritious food that filled me up.....And on the way home I got a Dixie Cola and a pack of Hostess Twinkies. Kids need sugar for a fast growing body....get them off their butts at school and the fat problem goes away. Oh, and I made my own lunch, put it in my lunchbox and ate it.....nobody TOOK IT AWAY from me because some kid might be allergic to peanuts.....back then kids weren't allergic to peanuts or "lactose sensitive" or all the other happy horseshit they've dreamed up.

Potatoes are very good for you, but the peel has the best gift of vitamins.You have to cook the potato still covered in it's skin to get all the vitamins to stay in the potato...

And to top it off, kids face having a lunch made by their mom, CONFISCATED because it may contain a food product another child is allergic to.

If the family gets food stamps, they should have to prepare the lunch at home, and the kid should brownbag.

One of the reasons we have such fat kids is they get two to three meals a day at school, and use the foodstamps for junk food.

Nope. Not true. Sure, not every penny is spent on high quality food but with foodstamps, there's not enough money to to feed a family. We need school lunches for those kids.
