The testes are the gonads that are placed outside on a male, and the ovaries are the gonads that are placed inside on a female. All of the other parts that we think of as male or female exist in both genders. As mentioned above the parts atrophy or hypertrophy to become smaller or larger, controlled by hormones, at certain times in our development, This makes us male or female, but things can go wrong, and the number of things that can go wrong mount up to having 27 or 63 possible sexes or genders depending on who you believe.
