Mitch McConnell says he plans on finishing his 6-year term despite his age and health issues. Does this mean he will run again?

And in other news, Robert Byrd says he will run for reelection again despite having died in 2010.

Senator Tyronosor from California said he considered retiring during the end of the Cretaceous period after all of his friends went extinct but felt the need to continue in Congress since he was the only one left.

According to the Senator, the exSTINCTion occurred due to his friends farting themselves into oblivion

Damn those carbon emissions!

Beshear is probably going to win re-election. Mitch die in office as a Republican, rather than see his seat given to a democrat before the next Senatorial Election in Kentucky. The Republicans passed a law that would force replacing a Senator with someone from same party, but no way it would get past the Ky Supreme Court, as Kentucky's constitution cannot be changed with just the passing of a law by the Republicans.

There seemed to be no real reaction to those in Congress when given the news.

I spoke to soon.

After given the news that Mitch was not going anywhere, members of Congress inexplicably drew his face on a balloon and began smacking it repeatedly.

It seems they were disappointed.

Looks like an insurrection to me.

But at that age, can you even get an insurrection?

Maybe if they looked at some of the pictures on Hunter's lap top.

This might be the best cartoon ever.

I feel bad for the circumstances. The reason we got rid of the filibuster (where you had to stand and talk for hours and hours) was because we didn't want 80 y/o men or women (now) falling dead on the Senate floor. Both major parties came to a consensus that it wasn't good for anyone to see that. It would behoove the least jaded congresscritters to come up with a rule .

When a turtle feels scared, it may retract its head and legs into the shell to protect itself from the threat. Turtles get inside their shell because they think their shell can save them. They also get inside the shell to look smaller and less noticeable to their threats.

If he's not going to retire because of the issue with his replacement, senate republicans should be calling for him to step down from his role as minority leader.

Mitch McConnell says he plans on finishing his 6-year term despite his age and health issues.

The meaning is obvious.
  1. Despite his extreme age and failed health, any normal person working for themselves would have retired long ago to enjoy their money. So Mitch is not working for himself nor is he working for you.
  2. That can only mean he is working for someone else and his committment to staying in and carrying out their agenda far outweighs his own life, health, life or retirement! Sounds a bit just like a whole lotta other people in Washington doesn't it? Like Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Diane Feinstein, Joe Biden, John McCain or Harry Reid? People who worked until they dropped despite being filthy rich? Even Nancy Pelosi.
  3. No doctor on this planet would recommend a man of that age suffering the kind of heath and mental deterioration McConnell has to keep on working when he could easily retire!
  4. Worse, they doesn't even care that his own constituents are SCREAMING (literally) for him to retire!
Kinda reminds me of Lez Cheney--- determined to shoot her own party in the face while claiming she was "saving democracy."

He's still sharper than AOC, and she's only what, 25? Not that that is saying much.

They get addicted to power and attention, and never leave. Strom Thurmond was 99 when he retired.

Keep em coming like I just love the truth in pictures!!!

When I think of Progressive Socialists, I see them opening up reeducation and concentration camps at some point. There ar eno shortage of sadists in law enforcement (national and local), security, intelligence, cyber, and all related ways. The dictatorial educts we have seen in recent years is out in the open. And the people screwed over by them voting them in again.

You might be right, or it could be that these people have been doing this for so long that they know nothing else, kind of like a jail bird that has been institutionalized and is afraid of being released back into society.

In their gut, they know they will die soon if they leave.
