Missouri is one of the deadliest states for giving birth. Its abortion ban may make that worse

In a Republic, actually
‘Kristen Mason knows that the months during pregnancy and after childbirth can be difficult, lonely and even dangerous — especially in her home state. The United States is in the midst of a maternal mortality crisis and Missouri has some of the nation’s poorest outcomes.

In her work at the KC Women’s Ministry, Mason serves as a doula and childbirth educator and the group’s executive director. The Kansas City-based nonprofit provides free or sliding-cost doula services to low-income residents in the Kansas City area who are pregnant.

While doulas are trained experts in birthing, they also serve as advocates for clients who because of their race, income and life circumstances sometimes don’t get the services they need.

That happens a lot in Missouri — and health professionals worry that the state’s near-total abortion ban will make pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period even more dangerous.

An average of 61 women in the state died while pregnant or within one year of pregnancy each year from 2017 to 2019, a ratio of 25.2 deaths per 100,000 live births, according to the latest report from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.’

And of course these are mostly low-income women of color.

If 61 women died .. why did they die, and did they want slice and dice up their child? Why does Missouri have the "deadliest birth rate" and how is it related to abortion?

My spidey sense is seeing apples and oranges with causation vs. correlation.

The United States is heading towards a 3rd world country? Really? If that's the case, why aren't you leaving for a 1st or 2nd world country?
.

The sooner the better. We have enough whining victimhood junkies with their irrelevant drive-by posts.

You guys will stop at nothing in order to justify the murder of as many fetuses as possible.

Reading the Missouri Department of Health information, the following reasons identify the rate of mortality -- these events exist regardless of the rate of abortions:

According to the Missouri Department of Health, the most common causes of infant mortality include birth defects, preterm birth and low birth weight, maternal complications of pregnancy, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and infant injuries

Note .. black infants have a higher rate of death in the state.

Yeah I wish they would abort all of them lol.

A doula? Really!! These women want a doula. Fuck 'em. I never had one. I never heard of a doula before it became another demand. Nope. NOPE.

It is always fun when you people highlight your ignorance is such a proud manner.

Looking at the infant mortality rates from 2022, Cuba was sitting at 4.188 per 1000 and Canada was 4.055.
Yes, I would expect that Canada would be close to Cuba.

America's was 5.4 in 2020 but I've heard it's much higher in 2022. Could you look it up for me please.
