When Michigan State Rep. Matt Maddock took the stage at an Oakland County fundraising pool party in early August – a recording of which was obtained exclusively by The Messenger – he had a clear message he wanted to convey: If the government keeps coming after conservatives, someone is going to get shot or a civil war is going to begin.

A key reason Jefferson ran against him---and beat his ass. Then pardoned everyone on jail for exercising Free Speech.

Then he governed so fairly and moderately, as did his successors Madison and Monroe, that the period became known are the Era of Good Feelings.

Then there was the late 1850's where there were no Jeffersons, Madisons, and Monroes to save us. Instead we have Bidens, and Trumps---parallel universes of the sort which have happened before.
