The ill effects one gets from meat and dairy in the diet are alarming. These products have gotten to be so tainted from antibiotics given to animals, growth hormones, fecal matter, etc. Not good effects.

This might be one of those areas where the UN should step in and take control, with the help of environmental and animal rights groups.

Some places are completely wrong for the animals themselves, for groundwater supplies, for sanitation, for feed, and/or for living space.

Maybe there could be subsidized ranches with specific animals in parts of the world better able to sustain them and these ranches can supply countries that need imported meat (or straw, or feed,) without the usual trade restrictions.

First, I'm not punishing myself, this is a choice. I don't look at it as a something to be won, but rather circumstances that have been going on for over a half century. Given that, and the mighty forces involved, not to mention the deception of American consumers, my approach is to not do battle because it would be a no-win situation. There are others who are taking these industries to task who have the resources to pursue this challenge.
