Di Blasio has made independent compnaies such as "Uber" his new personal cause. And in doing so, is getting his ass beat....
Score one for the good guys( consumers and independent contractors of Uber)...
Seems Di Blasio has this idea that government exists to "dictate to the people/business".....Not the other way around as the US Constitution states. Di Blasio also is quoted as saying he believes in "the heavy hand( more like ham handed) of government"......
The mayor is obviously in bed with the NYC Taxi Cartel which if it had it's way there would be no other means of 'private individual' transportation south of 96th street in Manhattan. Home to nearly 30,000 yellow taxi cabs....BTw the cost of ONE Taxi Medallion costs in excess of ONE MILLION dollars. That is the going rate charged by the City of NYC for the privilege of operating a taxi cab.....
Uber is kicking ass in many cities. The company insists in late model vehicles operated by those only with clean operator's licenses and up to date over the top insurance coverage. Drivers must be examined for NCIC criminal background checks.
NYC"s taxi drivers need only have a pulse and a willingness to work insane hours for crummy wages.
