But in the other post you stated he's a full time student.....So, "two hours a day" sounds fishy.Noooooooo, i specifically asked if he paid into unemployment before collecting?I guess you missed the part where he was full time student collecting unemployment.
And you know for a fact that a 20-something has paid in a year's worth of salary into unemployment and isnt taking more than he put in how exactly?
It's nice to hear that you support liberal safety net programs tho.
And, what is so wrong with him going to school on a loan he has to pay back?
Sounds like he's quite a responsible person.
Now, if he fails to pay back that loan, or was found to be commiting fraud to collect unemployment, then get back to me.
He could have been working but wasn't. He CHOSE to stay out of the workforce to spend his time in school yet he still collected full enemployment benefits for over a year with no intention of looking for a job during that time. In fact, he didn't look at all. He just went to school a couple of hours a day collected. Did I mention he lives with his Mom rent free?
To answer your question, yes, he did pay in but he didn't pay in anywhere near as much as he got back.
He took advantage of the system. Personally, I'm fine with it but I do find some of his positions on issues pretty damn hypocritical considering his real life situation and actions.
I had no idea you had such a liberal view on unemployment benefits.
Plus, I believe part of the requirement for a student to collect unemployment, would be to provide full class schedules, and to have paid into it prior to collecting.
I have no problem with unemployment benefits. Very few people do.......Most people don't abuse them like many of the welfare suckers do. And unemployment seems to be much more accountable than welfare.
I'm a former business owner, Luissa......I know quite a bit about how unemployment works.
