Why is Sotomayor running away from her own track record?

If Libruls are so cool and smart and mainstream why doesn't she admit her "Wise Latina" and El Norte writings are what she feels in her heart?

First, if Joe Biden can become VP and Al Franken can be a Senator then smarts is no longer a qualification for any position in Washington

Second, she's on record, more than once about how her being a Latina is a unique qualifier for being a judge and understanding the law.

Why is she running away from her own statements, saying they were "rhetorical"?
