Legal gun owners are not committing crimes, so why do the democrats keep releasing violent criminals?

We don't have a gun problem in the U.S....we have a democrat party problem. The democrat party keeps releasing the most violent criminals, the ones doing almost all of the gun crime and murder in this country......

How much is almost all?

Here....

In two decades of hearing every variety of gun case, Velis said he asked the retired jurist how many had involved a legal gun owner?

“His answer was ‘One,’” Velis told his colleagues.

If the anti-gun extremists wanted to stop gun crime, they would stop voting for the democrat party....the political party that is attacking the police to the point they can't, or won't do their jobs, and the political party that uses any excuse to release the most violent gun offenders back onto our streets......they want these criminals out there shooting people...because they need them to help them push for gun control.

"why do the democrats keep releasing violent criminals?" Probably the same reason Republicans release them, even going so far as to reduce penalties, the Biden Crime bill had in place for longer sentencing. I suspect trying to buy votes. Ask Donny. Weakening it was one of his gigs.

The democrats have been doing it far longer and in a greater scale than Trump......He was wrong, but they have made it part of their party platform.

The states where they do it, keep reelecting them, perpetuating the problem, and attracting votes.
Here is some grist for your mill.

We don't have a gun problem in the U.S...
Sure we do.

Blaming democrats is nonsense although they don’t help the matter much.

Texas hasn’t elected a democrat sate wide in 30+ years. The entire board of pardons and paroles is appointed by republicans.

100,000 CURRENT former prisoners have been released from prison. Not to mention how many are on probation.

But somehow the democrats are responsible?

Utter bullshit.

Needs clarification. Those released early because of Covid may have to return to prison and finish their sentences. Most prisoners have the opportunity for early release depending on their offense and behavior record.

Almost all of them used to be legal gun owners.

And again you're right that the over 300 million guns aren't to blame.

Where do the bad guys with guns and the mass shooters come from?

They come from the ranks of good Americans with guns.

Mass shooters are the same as you. They're basically law abiding Americans who become mass shooters.

Which Americans should be on a police watch list. I would suggest that the only ones on this board would be You, 14Shooter, and 1srelluc.

Who else is fixated with their guns and shows potential for gun violence?

Not to suggest that any of the three of you will go off, but just to say that there are indications of a potential.

We're making some progress Bulldog. 2Aguy's nonsense isn't selling anymore and that's a lot different from a year ago.

All he has for us now is repeating the fact that the guns aren't to blame. He's easy to defuse by just agreeing with him.

All his attempts to prove something, just leave the forum members with the question of 'what the hell is he trying to prove'?

Now he seems to want to blame the shootings problem on a political party releasing violent criminals?

Never mind that America releases fewer criminals than any other country.

In fact, Norway demonstrates that releasing nearly all criminals after rehab counselling is the most effective approach.

What kind of gungoonery bullshit will he try next?

2guy is nuts. Dont waste much time trying to have a rational discussion with him.

I don't and none of us should anymore.
At least until he understands that guns don't kill people. It's people like him who are potential shooters who live their lives fixated on guns and violence..

Well there is also an X factor as to the nature of the 100,000 inmates who are on parole in Texas. Are they white collar criminals or bloodthirsty murderers just hankering’ for their next body? Whatever the number is; it’s too high in my view. Parole should be rare. Sentences should matter. I think we should have sentencing guidelines that are nearly insurmountable. If you want to build a wall, build it there. You commit 2nd Degree Murder you can’t be sentenced to less time than someone who committed burglary for example. One crime is clearly worse than the other and the punishment should be worse as well. If not; what’s the point.

But look; there are 50 states. About 25 have GOP governors. With in about 80% of the states, the party that has the governor’s mansion doesn’t change very often. The Governors appoint the people who make parole decisions one way or the other. Blaming Democrats for all of these convicted felons walking around is dishonest. The OP’s one god-given talent is being dishonest.

The real culprits are the state legislatures.
They have decided that crime isn't a very serious problem.

The problem isn’t parole…..the problem is the democrat party judges and prosecutors who plea down gun charges, and other felonies which hides the actual record of the criminal…….so when they are up for parole their real crimes don’t keep them locked up…..if they even make it to prison before they are released on no cash bail…..

then add to that the fact that democrats keep reducing the penalties for gun crimes in the cause of social Justice…releasing even more, violent thugs, back onto the streets…

Hmmm...what you're saying is, as always total fecal matter.

The facts show that 100,000 (these are rounded numbers) Texans are on parole. Meaning they were in prison. You understand that right...they were in prison. In the clink; the big house, up the river, stony lonesome. Prison.

The State board of pardons and paroles is appointed by the governor pretty much. Since 1992 , that governor has been a Republican. That is over 30 years.

For someone to be on parole, they will have had to have been approved for it by a GOP appointee or five. Democrats have no sway on that.
