Simple answer today is YES.

Conservative value today is to let their politicos hang on to power by any moral compromise. All that matters is “owning the libs”.

Ronald Reagan famously said that he didn’t leave the Democratic Party. They left him. His views didn’t change. They did.

I’m reminded of that from time to time when I see the Republican Party of today. I used to be a solid Republican voter. I used to vote Democrat sporadically, only if I considered them a far superior candidate.

But the Republicans have abandoned all they once held as important. It is the absence of core beliefs.

Reagan and Republicans of that era could discuss any issue with ease. They believed what they said. They had core beliefs. Today. The only core belief is loyalty to Trump. And of course hating Democrats. Those are not Republicans of yesteryear. They are lunatics.

I am not surprised that old school Republicans are leaving. I imagine it is nearly as sickening for them as it is for many of us.

Look around. See what is happening? If you don’t like the report, even if it is absolutely true. The RW types declare it Fake. Fake has been mutated, mutilated, into meaning it makes us look bad.
