A small quibble, Obama might be The One, but the first brick of the path to fascism was laid with the tax act of 1982, essentially leading to control of the government by corporations, and the last structural brick was laid on the path to fascism with the Patriot Act. Everything since then has been smoothing the road for traffic.

Left or right politics aside, my faith in the U.S. is that of not enough Americans ever can be round up to carry out the orders for a totalitarian government.
