These aholes love excuses for deploying our troops around the world. This is not our job. Don't send our kids over to yet another shithole under the guise of peacekeeping when all it will do is put our troops in harm's way and further inflame these lunatics.

(Bloomberg) -- The US and Israel are exploring options for the future of the Gaza Strip, including the possibility of a multinational force that may involve American troops if Israeli forces succeed in ousting Hamas, people familiar with the matter said.

The people said the conversations have been impelled by a sense of urgency to come up with a plan for the future of Gaza now that a ground invasion has begun. A second option would establish a peacekeeping force modeled on one that oversees a 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty, while a third would see Gaza put under temporary United Nations oversight.

The people, who asked not to be identified discussing the sensitive matter, underscored that the conversations are still at an early stage and much could change. Some US officials consider the options premature or unlikely. But Secretary of State Antony Blinken alluded to the challenge on Tuesday when he told a Senate panel that the US was examining a range options for the future of Gaza.

“We can’t have a reversion to the status quo with Hamas running Gaza,” Blinken, who will travel to Israel on Friday, told the Senate Appropriations Committee. “We also can’t have — and the Israelis start with this proposition themselves — Israel running or controlling Gaza.”

“Between those shoals are a variety of possible permutations that we’re looking at very closely now, as are other countries,” he said.

National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson told Bloomberg on Tuesday night that “sending US troops to Gaza as part of a peacekeeping force is not something that’s being considered or is under discussion.”

The State Department declined to comment on the plans.

Israeli officials have said repeatedly that they don’t intend to occupy Gaza, but they’ve also said that continued rule by Hamas is unacceptable after the Oct. 7 attack in which the group killed 1,400 Israelis and took more than 200 people hostage. There’s also little evidence that the Palestinian Authority, which governs the West Bank, would be willing or able to take over Gaza. Hamas has been designated a terrorist group by the US and the European Union.

More like they need a Punisher Force.

calm down. Even the single linked story (bloomberg is reputable imo) seems to show the most likely option among the unlikely options is

"A second option is a peacekeeping force modeled on the Multinational Force and Observers group that operates on and around the Sinai peninsula, enforcing the terms of the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. Israel believes that this idea is worthy of consideration, according to a person familiar with the matter."

Baiscally those guys are referees. Israel shot at them in Lebanon, btw, a few years back, and I think there were casualties, but not to American forces. But the article also points out that Israel is going to fence them in more and create a "buffer zone" or DMZ.

This topic was discussed in one of the more sane corners of the www when this whole thing initially broke out. There are still some corners of the www where relevant factors regarding the whole of these goings-on can be discussed intelligently without the constant distraction of the programmed antics of your average mainstream mediated mouthpiece or the equally programmed gambit being run by the how dare you crowd invoking the notion of antisemitism to purposefully shut any such dialogue/discourse down before it can take root, should anyone dare to expand upon relevancy regarding the goings-on outside the parameter of the designated narrative. But that's their role in all of this. So they're useful in that regard to those involved with larger geo-political interests who do not want those larger geo-political interests scrutinized or acknowledged out in the wild.

But getting back to the topic, specifically, the prediction was made that an international agency or its proxies and/or an international solution would eventually be invoked.

And...ta daaa. Here we are. Except under the model of don't look at the the left hand while the right hand keeps your attention.

The reason that it came up, though, was because of those natural gas fields that Gaza is sitting on off the coast. Particularly sovereignty over them.

Of course, one would have to possess a knowledge of the history regarding that whole affair with the arguments over sovereignty over that natural gas, going back to the events of 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2006/2007.

Anyway. I imagine first things come first, though. So a thinking man might wonder if we'll first see such an international solution invoked when the ''old maps'' get pulled out and a move to establish some sort of new religion that the global community can all agree on, under the designated model of, as the piece invokes ''peace keeping'' and with consideration given to the invocation by political leadership of some parties who are involved that this is also, in their view, a religious war. One that also conveniently establishes some sort of international authority over all of those offshore gas reserves, btw. Ahem...

I am ok with sending in some Canadian peacekeepers to guard the craters and bombed out buildings once Israel is done with that shit hole.

Peacekeepers , Americans and Israelis is a double Oxymoron .

And Oxy Moron is a well chosen term .

This is EXACTLY what needs to be done. Hamas should be completely wiped out and peacekeepers should then be in the area to make sure Hamas stays out.

Sharia in the Sahara

All Gazans, and perhaps all West-Bankers and Arabs within Israel have to be deported a thousand miles away from Israel. Otherwise, the jihadi holocaust will be repeated again and again.

it will be utterly disgraceful if we sent troops over for some war for Israel.

With homelessness at a record high in America. It’s unthinkable that we’re going to send away 60 billion to Ukraine and 15 billion to Israel. If Jewish Americans wanna go fight for Israel let them. And if some Christians in America wanna fight for Israel let him go and fight. That’s it. If Jewish Americans, some of the billionaires who are Jews, wanna fund Israel let them. No taxpayer dollars to go towards Israel.

The Statist State Department Is a House of Broken Toys

Every President from Eisenhower to Bi-den except Trump has hand-cuffed the Israelis. This policy of making Jews the sacrificial lamb for the illusion of peace is typical of our ruling class's ignorant, failed, and treacherous foreign policy.

Remember the Spanish Civil War well Americans fought on both sides. So Americans should be allowed to send money to Palestinians to fight for their homes, American should be able to send money to Israel to fight for their homes. And anybody who claims bigotry is a disgrace to America.

Hamas can be labeled as terrorist by Israel but they’ve done nothing to us Americans. I disagree with their policies, but their policies are similar to Israel’s.

Hamas kidnapped Israeli Americans….. they had no idea they were American citizens, but they probably should have known some of them would be. Then again, Israel killed dozens of Americans via the USS liberty, and they have spied on us. Israel’s also killed Palestinian America Journalists. And they’ve killed Palestinian Americans.

The whole logic of the neocon and far left winger that support Israel is insane.

Hey look at this forum Biden supporters are on the same side as Trump supporters supporting Israel. But then, yet again, you are seeing some Biden supporter Agree with some Trump supporters in not supporting Israel. Very interesting

After every Gaza resident is gone from Gaza I fully support a peacekeeping mission.

Lots of Palestinians most of them don’t agree with hamas and they do want to fight for their homes, it’s only normal that a man would act like that whether, American Or Palestinian, Israeli, russian or Ukrainian.

Then tell us why not one text or phone call to Israel as thousands of rockets and men staged their slaughter?

Why not one shot at Hamas by a Gaza resident?
