Is there any present or passed law that allows this, or any reason whatsoever to lead anyone to believe this is a real thing that happens? I have no doubt that someone throughout history has done such a horrendous thing, but if so, it was just one of the crazies we have always had. Jeffery Dahmer ate people, but I don't see that as an issue that needs to be discussed in a presidential election. Does anybody have any reason to believe there was any truth in trump's crazy remark?

No, that would be you. Allowing abortion right up until birth is not disputed. Trump said that babies are being "aborted" after they're born. That's not happening at all.

Abortions which happen after the second trimester, are the ones which are medically necessary, either to save the life of the mother, or because the fetus isn't viable and won't survive. Nobody carries a baby for 6 months and then just changes their mind.

The discussion between the parents and physician would necessarily be about whether heroic measures would be taken to briefly be used to temporarily extend te nonviable life.
