Kentucky clerk is a democrat

Everything you posted here doesn't make anyone a conservative or progressive.
Now we all know what type of individual you choose to be and it becomes quite clear what you are all about.

This isn't about party, this is about ideology.

Would you say this woman was a "liberal" or "conservative "?
Lol oh ok. She's a liberal Christian. They do exist.

The fact that she refuses to do her job in protest of gay marriage pretty much defines her ideology as "conservative".

What evidence do you have to support your claim of her "liberalness"?
Her lifestyle.

Be specific. What about her "lifestyle" makes her a "liberal"?
Her 50 marriages. The way she had kids. Her working as a clerk for the government.

Who cares what party she's a member of?
If it turned out that she was a Republican, this thread would be 12 pages long by now...
If she had been a republican it would've been in the headline and I wouldn't have to dig to find this.

Pure nonsense. the threads I have seen have been about her being a Christian, her refusing to issue licenses, her failure before the courts ect ect ect. If there has been mention of political parties, it has been minor and incidental.

I can see impeaching her but putting her in jail is ridiculous.

She can either get with the program or she can resign. Since the legislature does not convene until January, leaving her there holding the entire county hostage to her grandstanding is ridiculous. She has been ordered by the governor of Kentucky and SCOTUS to issue the licenses. Put her in court and give her the option of resigning, issuing licenses or going to jail.
So now you want to circumvent the law for the sake of expedience? Let them impeach her, as that is what the law provides for.

S. J., putting her in jail of contempt of court, fining her $10K daily - these are completely justifiable, legal options to corral a rogue clerk.

So you expect the people of Rowan county to be unable to get a marriage licenses until January, because of this woman's grandstanding?

She is defying a court order. At the very least they can jail her for contempt of court. Why make everyone who wants to marry suffer?

Don't be ridiculous. Jail??? $10k a day??? That's just plain stupid.

And she has two very simple options to avoid jail or fines. She can issue the licenses or she can resign. One county clerk's tantrum does not get to stop an entire county from being married in their home area.

Then they should have written the law differently but you don't have the right to ignore it because you disagree with it's provisions.

Her religion is her problem - not her politics.
Her religion is now a legal problem yes.

However there are many religious democrats.

Not all Christians are against gay marriage either.

She belongs to a real strict religion I think too.

You're right. The county clerk does not have the right to ignore the law simply because she does not agree with its provisions. She also does not have the right to ignore court orders and ruling without facing the penalties associated with such crimes.

Fine, as long as it's done in accordance with the way the law was written.

I didn't say she does.

"Because she is an elected official, Davis, a Democrat, can’t be fired from the position for refusing to comply with the court order. If she is found guilty of misconduct, Davis could be imprisoned for up to a year, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. The state legislature can also vote to impeach her, the paper noted, though that seems unlikely since most Kentucky voters oppose same-sex marriage."

The defiant Kim Davis, the Ky. clerk who refuses to issue gay marriage licenses
Yes she is.
We'll tell your friends to stop knocking republicans about this.

No, she is standing up for a deeply held principle, her job has nothing to do with it. It just happens to be the focus of the progressives as a means of silencing her.

Barack Obama refuses to do his job too. Would you consider him a conservative?

Excellent point! Obama has ignored our immigration laws that have resulted in Americans being murdered and Democrats aren't calling for his incarceration. It's always the little guy who is used to make an example of. Hypocrites.
