Joy Behar: Dems Lost Senate Because of Gerrymandering

We should compile a list of must read civics books and start sending them to people like behar
This is a lost cause for Ms. Behar because she is a comedian who attempts to give political commentary and she makes a gaffe just about every show!

ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd said, “There has been a battle that happened in 2016 between geography, which Republicans have............
.............. Last night was an even bigger example of that. So Democrats won the popular vote last night by 8 million votes. They lose U.S. Senate races in red areas—”

Behar interjected, “Because of gerrymandering.”

Dowd corrected her by saying, “Well it’s not gerrymandering, that’s the Constitution. The districts are gerrymandered, but the states are part of the Constitution.”

At what minute and second does she say that. I just watched it and didn't see that.

I guess that make it OK to vote shift and voter fraud.

Democrats really have an uphill battle on how Republicans have the districts gerrymandered.

Extreme Gerrymandering & the 2018 Midterm

So your claim is that simply because you didn't win, what projections said you would win.... therefore it is gerrymandering?

Maybe you missed it, but Trump won the presidency while you projections said Hillary would win by a landslide.

So, if your projections not just failed, but were devastatingly wrong about the biggest election in the entire country.... why does it surprise you that your midterm election projections were wrong?

Do you people have to find some excuse for every single failure you have in life? Because you sound like Hugo Chavez trying to find someone to blame when Venezuelan stores can't even keep coffee in stock.

It's childish.... and pathetic. Grow up. Left-wingers are all babies these days, melting snowflakes of toddler emotionalism. Every single time you people don't get what you want, I just wait a few days and out come the waaaaabulances, trying to point fingers.
Major victory for Dems

They had to win by more than 12 percent of the vote to overcome Gerrymandering

Trump only needed to win 47 percent of the vote, while HIllary needed to win 53 percent to get elected

It is not a level playing field.....Republicans rule from a minority

Thank you for stating the obvious facts! Trump supporters just don't get it. Just imagine how they'd squawk if the shoe was on the other foot.

First off, there is a huge difference between a seat in the house of representatives, and the presidency.

The elections at the federal level for electoral colleges were specifically designed to not be a popular vote.

We don't want a system where states with large populations, can dictate how other states run. We don't want a system where states like California can impose their will on other states in the Union, simply because they have 40 Million people.

This is good, and correct. It should be that way. The citizens of California should be in charge of California, not Wyoming. So in order to correct that imbalance of power, you have to a system that isn't based exclusively on population.

And I can guarantee you that I would not oppose it, if the situation were reversed.

Now, back to the house seats, and this gerrymandering stuff.

"They had to win by more than 12 percent of the vote to overcome Gerrymandering"

Who? What race? All races? Prove it. Explain how.
I'll believe you if you can provide conclusive evidence. Not opinion, from a biased news source. Show me the evidence. I promise you will read your evidence, and consider it.

Hogwash
Gerrymandering Congressional Districts
Is Entirely Irrelevant In State-Wide Elections

State-Wide Elections:
Senators And PRESIDENT
This ^ ^ ^ Is The Popular Vote Of Your State

To Say "8mil More Democrats...Blah, Blah, Blah"
Means People That Voted Democrat For Their District Representation
Split Their Ballot, And Voted Republican For Senate

This Is The Same Thing As With Hillary All Over Again
An Extra 3mil Votes In One District
Has No Relation To The Votes In The District -- Or State -- Next Door

You People Need To Un-Fixate
On What You Pretend The Popular Vote Does
You Were Not Robbed Of Your Election

You Will Have To GIVE It To Them

Why the hell is this idiotic idea of Senatorial gerrymandering becoming so popular? I'm hearing it constantly in the past several months.

Our educational system is abysmal

Why do you blame the education system for stupid people?

Are there stupid people in the world? Lord, yes!

Why do you assume they were not educated and simply chose not to learn anything?

Gerrymandering has been around since the 1800's and is nothing new.

Until States do something about it, it will be with us forever.

NOT like this....

This is the computer age

of gerrymandering!!!

It is so precise, using algorithms, social profiles, names and addresses, where you work, what you make, how you like your coffee :) etc etc etc...

this ain't no paper map, laying on a table with a bunch of guys guessing where to draw the new lines for a district so it can help the party...

My state just did something about it.

After over 100 years of statehood.

Took them long enough.

As far as I can tell the HOUSE DISTRICTS are gerrymandered. The senate can't be gerrymandered because there's only one district, which is the state.

I might be wrong, but I don't think so.
