John McCain, reformed maverick

The point is Obama will do anything to get elected, for example lying. Talking of changing positions....

YouTube - The Obama Iraq Documentary: Whatever the Politics Demand

Wow, imagine faulting Obama for changing his mind.

Remember for 4 years Bush refused to send more troops into Iraq even though it was going bad and everyone was telling him? He waited until after the 06 midterms when his party lost power.

I don't want another president like that. Refusing to change course even though the facts tell him to? No way.

McCain will do anything to get elected. He took the anti Bush position when he was running against Bush in 2000 and now has to take on the Bush persona because Obama is the anti Bush. It's pathetic really. Fact is jreeves, you like Bush, and McCain is pretending he's the anti bush. Remember, even McCain admits your party sucks. He's going to reform your party too, even though you don't think your party needs reforming.

The only way the GOP wins is to lie to your dumb ass face. :clap2:

Your crazy ass would call this flip flopping if it was MCcain, do I really need to sift through your thousands of flip flop skitzo posts?

Bobo's not running for president.

McBush is.

McBush is.

Your absolutely wrong, there is no candidate in the 2008 election named MCBush.

Although, Bobo does seem to espouse a lot of the ideas of Obama.

I know you are very concerned about your stock portfolio right now, but don't worry. There won't be anything left soon.

And then Bush will leave for his 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay.

This weekend I volunteered at my churches picnic. While working in the back cooking up lamb & chicken, 4 of us started discussing politics. I was amazed to find out that McCain's calculated lies are working. All 3 of the guys I was talking to believe that McCain 2008 is lying to the religious right. I tried to explain to them that as far as our economy goes, McCain will toe the line Bush has followed. Tax breaks to corporations and the rich, outsourcing plus less regulations. Not to mention he is a war monger. He will push for war with Iran, and try to start the cold war all over again.

Then it dawned on me. Everytime I school a republican with the facts, they always fall back on, "well they all lie". So they can't lose. They have America convinced that while it is true McCain is a liar, it's no big deal because Obama has lied to.

But people don't realize, this is just like Clinton lying over a BJ vs. Bush lying about WMD's. Do people not realize there is a big fucking difference between a big lie and a white lie?

This is why the GOP spread the BS about Aiers & Rev. Wright. They knew McCain has all kinds of shady connections, so they threw a few bullshit ties that Obama has out there so now, it's a wash.

But it's not a fucking wash!!! McCain's lobbyists buddies are who crashed Lehman brothers!!! They crashed the Housing market. They are the ones gouging us at the gas pumps. They are the ones that lied us into war.

I seriously hope I planed some seeds with these guys. I explained that McCain voted against Bush when he could, but always toed the line when it was needed. He is not lying about making the tax breaks to the rich permenant, or waring with Iran.

One of the guys said Obama was going to raise taxes on people who make more than $35K. I told him he was wrong and that was a lie put out by the right.

I'm amazed how under informed people are.

Obama is going to have a tough time winning over a lot of these voters. I'm sure racism plays a part, but also he is the riskier choice. Even though McCain is horrible and already crashed the S&L industry in the 80's, people think he has experience and knows what he is doing. Unfortunately, they don't know what they are doing by voting for this guy. He is anti labor and pro rich. They don't see it because he had the luxury of running against Bush in 2000, so he got to be right on every issue. Unfortunately being right is not a good attribute in the REpublican party, so they gave Bush the nod.

So now dumb ass middle class voters who have been fucked over by the Republicans are going to go vote to give them 4 more years in the white house?

I still think Obama is going to win, but the idea that it is even close tells me the American voters is really stupid.

I'm not even going to blame the media anymore. All week they have been pointing out what liars McCain/Palin are. So if 51% want McCain, I guess we will see you in hell, because that's where the GOP is taking us.

If you don't think so, go read about this you dumb shit:

Markets stunned as Lehman, Merrill falter

What the fuck is it going to take for America to wake up?

So you believe Obama when he says he is only going to raise taxes on those making over 250k? If he were going to raise taxes on everyone else, he wouldnt say so. The last candidate to admit that lost 49 states. If we go back to the way it was under Clinton, everyone, not just the rich, will see higher taxes. Everyone says Bush's tax cuts only benefitted the rich. I looked at the brackets under Bush vs. under Clinton. It's funny how I make less than 70k and the tax cuts save me $2700 but they were only for the millionaires. Those in the lowest brackets saw their taxes go from 15 to 10 percent. The top bracket went down from 39 to 35 percent.

Hmmm.

I can't stand Bush, but I get tired of people on both sides making things up or just believing things because their candidate says it.

Americans are not stupid based on who they vote for. Maybe they don't like Obama's blocking of the Born Alive Bill in the Illinois State Senate. Maybe they think that says something about him.

You say the right spread BS about Rev. Wright. Did he not say those things? Was that someone impersonating him on those tapes?

Bush increased taxes more than any president in American history. Deficit spending is an invisible tax.

Now that I agree with. Couldnt have said it better. The budget needs to be balanced. I haven't heard either candidate even mention that prospect. I wouldnt count on either of them to do it.

I'm going to be honest, that is the best thing ever.

Hey, anytime someone brags that John McCain voted for or against something, remember this:

Employing a method known as "catch and release," DeLay allowed centrist or moderately conservative Republicans to take turns voting against controversial bills. If a representative said that a bill was unpopular in his district, then DeLay would ask him to vote for it only if his vote were necessary for passage; if his vote were not needed, then the representative would be able to vote against the party without reprisal.

I found this on Wikipedia when I googled Tom Delay. I knew McCain was doing this even before I found this. So basically if a bill passes but it is unpopular, John McCain votes against it so he seems like a maverick. But if his vote is needed, he always toed the line.

link? and you've been asked not to go from thread to thread posting the same stuff. K? just annoys me having to merge or move stuff when I'm working just because someone feels they're on a roll...

Thanks.

Now I don't feel like posting to you because you yelled at me.

Oh well, I'll get over it.

Early this week, as the American financial system absorbed one of its biggest shocks in generations, Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."

Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers, whom he described as the backbone of the economy, were productive and resilient.

By Tuesday he was calling the economic situation "a total crisis" and denouncing "greed" on Wall Street and in Washington. Meantime, he moved from adamant opposition to resigned acceptance of the big government bailouts.

The sharp turnabouts in tone and substance reflected a recognition not only that McCain had struck a discordant note at a sensitive moment but also that he had done so with regard to the very issue on which he can least afford to stumble.

Actually right now is a great time to buy stock, due to the bargain you can receive. The stock market fluctuates back and forth, no matter who is in office. Your assigning blame to Bush for the stock markets weak performance, just further proves your lack of knowledge of basic economics.

You're just like McCain still claiming the fundaments of our economy are strong. Didn't you get the memo to stop because you are wrong.

How do you like Bush and the rich bankers that own the federal reserve socialized our financial institutions? aren't you the free market fag that calls me a socialist?

On every aspect, the dems are better with the economy. consumer confidence, debt, inflation, unemployment, budget, spending. So why areyou a redumblican again?

MCcain never said the "fundaments" of the economy are strong. He stated the 'fundamentals of the economy were strong', which they are; American productivity, the American entrepreneurial spirit. This years Congress has done nothing, this Congress is the biggest failure in over 20 years. Only 294 laws have been passed, while they have managed to set up 'National Watermelon Day'.:cuckoo:

Obama's lead economic advisors led us into this financial crisis with the likes of Jim Johnson.

McCain's buddy George Bush led us into this crisis.

Nice try though.

A do-nothing Congress is to blame, along with the big financial companies like Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Lehman Brothers. The CEO's of those financial companies are now advising Obama on economic policy....:cuckoo:

There are more people to blame too, like the people who took out mortgages they couldn't afford.
