Like it or not, McCartney was the prime mover.

The Beatles had some greats, but they also put out a lot of mundane, bubblegum garbage.....Much like Hendrix put out some great stuff, and a lot of absolute crap.

Lennon was no Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clapton, Elvis, Elton, or anywhere near the myriad of other greats.
