Jobs report June 1

Agree.
There is a LOT of ground to make up after damn near 15 years of stagnate wages.
Not to mention diminishing and disappearing benefits.

May job gains beat expectations, unemployment rate hits 18-year low
Excellent news! Wages are climbing, but they need to accelerate.
I agree. Wages are always slow to climb. Hope they start climbing.
It's a fundamental law of economics: Wages should increase as the job market tightens. The problem is that hasn't happened as expected yet, and about the only answer is that there has been a huge amount of slack (underemployment) to work through.

So, it's still not a sure thing. Fingers crossed, we'll see.
.

I have been saying for the past 10 years, unemployment is not as big of an issue as underemployment.
Especially true in mid-America, manufacturing areas. Post NAFTA era has closed 6 major factories all within 50 miles of where I am alone.
All totaling over 7000 jobs with solid wages and excellent benefits. Replaced by low -wage retail and smaller manufacturing paying a fraction of the wages and slashed bene's.

Unemployment drops for the wrong reason?

U.S. Added 223,000 Jobs in May; Unemployment Rate at 3.8%

"'It was certainly a good number, with some weather-related bounce back in construction,' said Diane Swonk, an economist with Grant Thornton.

"While the unemployment rate may have moved in the right direction last month, she added, 'it went down for the wrong reason, a reduction in the size of the labor force.'"
What Powell Needs to Know About U.S. Labor-Force Participation

Lowest EVER unemployment among African-Americans.

Also, if the unemployment rate overall drops another 0.1%, it will be the lowest rate since the 60's.

If trump keeps this up, we wont have to do "the purge" to get 1%

"Almost all the US jobs created since 2005 are temporary"

Almost all the US jobs created since 2005 are temporary

"The conventional full-time job is disappearing.

"Survey research conducted by economists Lawrence Katz of Harvard University and Alan Krueger at Princeton University shows that from 2005 to 2015, the proportion of Americans workers engaged in what they refer to as 'alternative work' jumped from 10.7% to 15.8%. Alternative work is characterized by being temporary or unsteady—such as work as an independent contractor or through a temporary help agency."

Neither Trump nor any other Republican OR Democrat has any intention of changing the "gig economy."

Which means the rich will continue getting richer at the expense of productive workers regardless of which corporate whore you vote for.

All jobs are temporary, but some are temporary for a very long time.
