Job Market Starts to Favor Workers

yes lots of fast food jobs!! U6 is still 12%!! 50% higher than before recession. This is worst recover since Great Depression and seems to mark the decline of America, something about which most American agree.

U6 is a crap statistic. It is like a criminal who pleads not guilty and then expresses regret at their sentencing. There are people who are voluntarily unemployed or are working under the table and drawing government benefits who claim to want to work but wouldn't unless you gave them a driver, a corner office, and a six figure income to work whenever the mood struck them to show up.

dear, the issue is why is U6 50% higher now than before recession thanks to Barry!!!

Dear, the issue is that some people are not going to hold proper jobs under any President when they have the ability to not have a proper job and still survive. U6 is a crap statistic. U3 is the only relevant statistic. U6 is made up of drug dealers/users, bored housewives, single mothers dreaming of what life would be like if they had just used protection, and people still living in their mom's basement playing video games except for the two days a year dad threatens to boot their ass out if they don't go out looking for a job.

Wonderful. On a 12 month scale, this only took six years.....

Good job, I say. Good job.

In terms of job creation?

He beats Bush, Bush, Reagan and Clinton.

Here's a helpful video to help you see what Bush did to the economy:

After that? Took some hard work to get it above water again.

Complete BS. He beat Bush, that's for sure, but more jobs were created under the Reagan and Clinton administrations.
Jobs created during U.S. presidential terms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jobs created in their respective first terms, average annual percent increase in jobs:
Reagan: 5,322, 1.43%
Clinton: 11,507, 2.52%
Obama: 1,536, 0.28%

The same is true for their second terms:
Reagan: 10,780, 2.69%
Clinton: 11,223, 2.24%
Obama: 3,646, 1.80%

Why would you just make up a total lie like that?

Well actually..no.

Most new jobs average around 20 bucks an hour. Last I checked? Mickey D's isn't paying that.

And most Americans? They are pretty hopeful.

Erm..

Under President Obama, the United States is on pace to have its best job creation year since Bill Clinton was president in 1999.

Check out the job gains by year graph:
Obama Is on Pace For The Best Job Creation Year Since Bill Clinton Was President

Add in that Ronald Reagan spent an enormous amount of government money to make his record look better. The public spending is most responsible for his numbers.

And in the end? Reagan's economy had to be bailed out several times.

Worms eye view from a steel mill millwright. We are losing many good craftsmen now, millwrights, electricians, and automacian people. There is competition in this region for craftsmen, particularly those with 10 or more years of experiance in industry. So a number of companies have been offering a 30% increase in wages over what our best millwrights and electricians make, plus a better health care package. Now I and many others are grandfathered in on our retirement and vacation benefits, but have seen our heath care go to the high deductable. The younger people are looking at what our corperation is offering, and are moving on to higher pay and better benefits.

Companies that fail to stay competative in wages for craftmen wil die. Old fossils like me can quit anytime and retire with SS and pensions. Plus, we are quite willing to tell management to go fuck themselves, their failure to hire enough people to do the neccessary maintenance is not our problem, and we will not work a 24 hour shift because of their failures.

Yes, now that we are working our way out of the GOP's attempt to put us into the Second Great Republican Depression, employees are beginning to have more of a say in wages and benefits.

So best job creation year since bill Clinton means Obama has created more jobs than Clinton or Reagan? LOL. If you find that logical, you are not worth talking to. You are totally moving the goal posts. The chart in your own source even shows that Clinton created more jobs per year than Obama--even Obama's new high for this year is less than the Clinton average.

The fact remains that both Reagan and Clinton created more jobs than Obama has. Period. Your original statement was a falsehood.

Not moving any goalposts.

Neither Clinton nor Reagan went into the shitstorm that Obama stepped into.

Both economies were in a recovery phase. The difference being that Reagan left Bush senior with another shitstorm and Clinton left Bush jr. with a solid economy.

Obama's first few months saw the UE go up 10%. That's before he even did anything.

In context, Obama RECOVERED all the jobs lost because of Bush administration folly AND did it in the private sector.

Something neither Reagan or Clinton accomplished.

It's really quite remarkable.

The really fun thing is on a macro scale all this off shoring and automation has created a deficit of skilled workers and tradesmen in general.

There aren't many electricians, plumbers, printers, steamfitters, etc, around any more and the need has become dire. Add in the deficit in tech people and there is a real problem looming. And this problem was created DIRECTLY by the "forward thinking" Captains of industry that think the short term buck, they pay themselves, is much better than sustainability over the long term. Which is why they cannot be trusted to make the big decisions in terms of the overall economy.

Bottom line is the Randian/Freedman economy always leads to collapse. You can't have people continually drawing from the well and putting nothing back..and expect that it will always have water.

If you are not moving the goal posts, then all that is relevant is your original claim. You claimed job creation under Obama is better than it was under Reagan or Clinton. This is false both in nominal terms of the number of jobs created, and in terms of the average annual percent increase in jobs. Period. Your claim was 100% false, plain and simple.

Excuses are the reasons we fail.

Obama's use of Keynesian Economics and the choking over regulation of businesses added to the shit storm. Obama Care will implode on it's own. You do not send a Community Organizer to the Presidency. The US has the highest Corporate Tax Rate of any country.

Reduce the Corporate Tax Rate by 30% and the businesses will return and new foreign ones
will come here.
You need to look at the most business friendly states to understand how to create jobs.

yes even liberal states like NY offer no tax deals to attract businesses while at the same time supporting the world record Federal Tax to appeal to the pure ignorance of most liberals.

Liberalism is so obviously stupid it should be made illegal!

Also seems that a profession near and dear to my heart has a labor shortage!

America is experiencing a shortage of truck drivers.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) estimates that the U.S. is short 30,000 truck drivers. Factors driving the shortfall include regulations, relatively low pay, and the fact that fewer young people are interested in getting into the profession.

Ninety percent of carriers said they couldn't find enough drivers who met department of transportation (DOT) criteria, according to a study cited by the ATA.

Read more: America's Truck Driver Shortage - Business Insider

I drove a truck for 11 years.

It was fun, but crap pay.

Fun?
Living out of a truck, bad food, bad coffee, 11 hrs of driving, log books, DOT, Staties, taking showers in public showers, driving for all the other drivers on the road(4 wheelers)shit for pay and the same roads over and over again. You have to work but truck driving fun? Maybe for the first month or so...

ANYONE who blindly follows ANY political association is stupid and should be illegal. Maybe you?

dear, I do follow it but not blindly. Can you say why you think blindly or must you admit as a typical liberal you lack the IQ to defend what you say?

I agree.
Tell me...how do I defend my statement?
What if I were to say; The tire is flat, that's why its flat. Why would I need to defend that?
It is obvious that you do, follow blindly. You think all the problems can be solved only by the right and you think that the left does nothing but wrong. You think that the right has done no wrong and you think that the left has messed everything up. That in it self makes you, or anyone, left or right, guilty.

....and...
you have been presumptuous about me. The vast majority of my posts have only been in only one other subject so how is it that you know my beliefs well enough to call me an idiot or a liberal or anything at all?

so then can you tell what you are?

U6 is a crap statistic.
People about 10x smarter than Special Ed have tried (with amazing patience) to explain why U-6 isn't as relevant as U-3, he just talks in circles, ignores when he's caught lying, and ends up circling back to bleating the exact same thing he responded to your post with.

You might as well be making a point to a brick wall, Special Ed will repeat the same disproven shit 1000 times without batting an eye.

dear, please explain why U6 is so much higher now than before recession and why wages are lower now than before recession? isn't thinking fun?
