Jesus Said WHAT?!

In typical CON style the trash here is lying as a way of defecting the fact that their hero Jesus Christ was a lying sack of shit who approved the owning and beating of slaves.

People in debt (and their children) were still being sold into slavery in the first century CE:

topbul1d.gif
Matthew 18:25: "But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made."
Priests still owned slaves:

topbul1d.gif
Mark 14:66: "And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:"
Jesus is recorded as mentioning slaves in one of his parables. It is important to realize that the term "servant" or "maid" in the King James Version of the Bible refers to slaves, not employees like a butler, cook, or maid. Here, a slave which did not follow his owner's will would be beaten with many lashes of a whip. A slave who was unaware of his owner's will, but who did not behave properly, would also be beaten, but with fewer stripes.

This would have been a marvelous opportunity for Jesus to condemn the institution of slavery and its abuse of slaves. But he is not recorded of having bothered to taken it:

topbul1d.gif
Luke 12:45-48: "The lord [owner] of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
One of the favorite passages of slave-owning Christians was St. Paul's infamous instruction that slaves to obey their owners in the same way that they obey Christ:

topbul1d.gif
Ephesians 6:5-9: "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him."
Other passages instructing slaves and slave owners in proper behavior are:

topbul1d.gif
Colossians 4:1: "Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven."

topbul1d.gif
1 Timothy 6:1-3 "Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;"
In his defense, St. Paul incorrectly expected that Jesus would return in the very near future. This might have demotivated him from speaking out against slavery or other social evils in the Roman Empire. Also he regarded slaves as persons of worth whom at least God considers of importance. St. Paul mentioned that both slaves and free persons are sons of God, and thus all part of the body of Christ and spiritually equal.

topbul1d.gif
1 Corinthians 12:13: "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."

topbul1d.gif
Galatians 3:28:"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

topbul1d.gif
Colossians 3:11: "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all."
Paul apparently saw no evil in the concept of one person owning another as a piece of property. In his Letter to Philemon, he had every opportunity to discuss the immorality of slave-owning, but declined to do so.

So let me get this straight, you found 10, count'em, 10 Republicans who were pedophiles? The hell you say. Well I guess I owe you an apology. I guess this proves all conservatives are pedophiles, my bad.

Hey there sperm drinker Proof the overwhelming majority of pedophiles are Republican. Roman Polansky was not a member of any American political party because he is not an American citizen you dumb fuck and even then you had to go back 45 years to find someone who is neither a Democrat or an American citizen. Republicans like you get caught in your lies and distortions all the time. Not only are you shameless liars you suck at lying. Lucky for you the Republican base is on average mildly retarded.

why would a litteral sword come out someone's mouth?
You watch to many circus freak performances and are looking at it from the NT satanists perspective not the Hebrew teachings.
The Dead Sea Scrolls would help clearify this for you.
The battle between spiritual light and darkness is a battle between light(knowledge and truth) against darkness (lies ignorance & folly) so Michael who best knows the truth Dan 10:21 has A sWORD out the mouth cutting through the B.S. that is the dragon (false prophet).

Pay no attention to this bigoted idiot, child.

"From his mouth there went a sharp sword with
which to smite the nations ." Revelation 19:15

Context and roles (judge) and sWord coming out the mouth this is about Michael piercing the dragon with knowledge and truth (Dan 10:21) out the mouth and according to Jeremiah Jesus has to be the dragon because Jesus is everywhere it says pierced- Isaiah 51:9

Stop lying. The sword is not word. It is an actual sword and Jesus's robe is soaked in blood. They sword will be used to destroy entire nations.

19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he dothjudge and make war.
19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
19:14
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelations is not intended to be read as literally. The word and the "sword in Jesus mouth" are equated since words are wielded from the mouth. Hence, the sword of Jesus will strike down the deceptions held in the minds of the deceived. This, in turn, will lead to the destruction of entire nations(governments?) that was propped up by these deceptions.

In all likely hood, Jesus is not going to have an actual weapon--just knowledge of the truth--but that will more destructive than any weapon man has.

ASIDE:Knowledge and actual truth are the most destructive/constructive 'things' a man can have. So it is pretty savvy to symbolize word with 'sword' when you talk about its destructive nature. Nice use of symbolism in this context.

When's the last time you saw a sword in the hands of Jesus iconograph or statue?
Jesus is the dragon not the Dragon Slayer

I once saw a christmas display where somone put the Archangel statue above the manger scene sword drawn facing the sword towards the Baby Jesus display.
Knowing who Jesus is made this ironically hillarious.
Don't know if they intended the same message or accidentally were sending that message but it was oh so true none the less.

Scripture proves what you are saying.

Jesus falsely predicts that some of his listeners would live to see him return and establish the kingdom of God.

"Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:27)

I only stated that the belief that he will float down from the sky is what is irrational and will never happen. When Jesus appeared the first time he said that he came down from heaven but everyone knows that he came into the world in the usual way and was born into a family. If he ever returns how could he possibly come down from heaven in any other way? The verse you posted only says that some people standing there listening to Jesus would see the kingdom of God in power before they died just as Nebuchadnezzar did in Daniel 4:34.

The kingdom of God has always been in existence. There are some people standing around reading this who will not die until they too see the kingdom of God ,.

Jesus falsely prophesies that the end of the world will come within his listeners’ lifetimes.

Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13:30-31)

At the time of Jesus there was the belief that there was an age of darkness, a generation of error, that would precede the messianic age, a generation of light. At the time it was the popular belief that the end of the generation of darkness (not the end of the world) and the beginning of the new age was imminent so when Jesus said that it would be a long time off, wars and rumors of wars, nation will rise against nation, Jerusalem would be destroyed and the people exiled and scattered, the descendants of the exiles would return, the gospel preached throughout the world etc., and then the end will come, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.", he was laughed to scorn.

However it is clear that the generation of error that Jesus argued against that taught a literal interpretation and application of divine law persists to this day.

Jesus didn't lie. People have failed to comprehend the meaning and subject of his teaching and prophecies.

How unhappy do you have to be with your spiritual choices to make threads like to his?

Hmm, Crusader I notice anyone who doesn't pat your Jesus idol on the head is seen as angry or unhappy, but I'm sure this is because you think the wife beaters with cross tattoos and jails full of happy go lucky people wearing cross necklaces and cross earings and mother Mary Tatoos are all as happy as their victims.

Interesting how affiliation pride makes anyone opposing that affiliation as angry and unhappy, when it's you and your comments that are always reflecting that projection you place on your rivals.

Jesus advocates child abuse:

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” Matthew 15:4-7

Abandon your wife and children for Jesus and he’ll give your a big reward. Jesus asks that his followers abandon their children to follow him. To leave your child is abuse, it’s called neglect, pure and simple. Matthew 19:29

Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark 7:9

Jesus says that he has come to destroy families by making family members hate each other. He has “come not to send peace, but a sword.” Matthew 10:34

Jesus says, “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace on earth! No, rather a sword lf you love your father, mother, sister, brother, more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. “The real beauty of this verse is that Jesus demands people truly love him more then they love their own family. I ask you how can we love someone that we can not see or interact with? Love is an emotion pertaining to physical existence not to faithful ideologies, yet God threatens you with Death just because your love for your mother maybe stronger than your love for him. Matthew 10:34

Families will be torn apart because of Jesus. “Brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death." Matthew 10:21

Said it before, the Bible is not a 'good' book about a good deity. It's an evil book about an evil deity.

Said it before, the Bible is not a 'good' book about a good deity. It's an evil book about an evil deity.

The Bible is a collection of books and includes insights about God and His relationship with mankind. It was all written through the lens of humans. As we see, each human lens is unique.

Some people pick up a collection of books, are horrified, and declare the Harry Potter series to be a great evil. Some are influenced by the friendship and courage and are better people because of it.

Simply because some see through the lens of evil is no reason to insist that everyone look through their lens.

FB,
why would a litteral sword come out someone's mouth?
You watch to many circus freak performances and are looking at it from the NT satanists perspective not the Hebrew teachings.
The Dead Sea Scrolls would help clearify this for you.
The battle between spiritual light and darkness is a battle between light(knowledge and truth) against darkness (lies ignorance & folly) so Michael who best knows the truth Dan 10:21 has A sWORD out the mouth cutting through the B.S. that is the dragon (false prophet).

I know you Christards want to move the goal posts but the sword is literal and so is the blood soaked robe and the horse and Jesus floating in the clouds. He told the floating in the clouds lie to the high priest. Learn your Bible before you lie about what is in it.

Your god must really suck if he needs flunkies like you to lie for him.

Oh you fucking piece of shit... Harry Potter is fiction and it is presented as fiction. The Bible is presented as the Word of the Creator of the Universe. AND.. no it is not about interpretation.... There are 516 verses in the Bible that are not sick and evil. The rest of the Bible is either absurd or evil. I know because I am a Biblical scholar and a very good one at that.
