Well, it seems that Trump is taking care of his family yet again. Ivanka Trump's line of fashion and clothing are not included in the tariffs, even though her stuff is made in China.

Hey Trump..................you're gonna screw the farmers and ranchers, while saving your daughter's clothing line? Way to go......................................

The excuse given? They say that tariffs on clothing and shoes would adversely affect consumers, because most of the clothes and shoes sold are made in China.

Donald Trump's China Tariffs Don't Apply to Ivanka

Despite her father’s rallying cry to “buy American and hire American,” 100% of Ivanka Trump’s fashion products were made overseas—at least until early 2017.

And now her goods are avoiding the sweeping tariffs enacted by President Trump in his trade war with China. On Friday morning, Trump implemented $34 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods ranging from auto parts to medical devices, according to the Huffington Post.

Clothing and shoes, like those imported by Ivanka Trump’s company, were spared.

Gee, maybe because our priority is to bring back tech and manufacturing jobs that require some skill and higher paying wages, not sweatshops making clothes.

Trump’s not about to risk getting blue balls

Ew.

I think this kinda smacks of cronyism.

Bill Clinton and newt destroyed the U.S. textile industry, almost all the textile factory's in the South are gone or laying in rubble.

It would be fruitless putting tariffs on clothes..

Well, it's a damned good thing, because clothes and shoes cost enough already. This has nothing to do with Ivanka, and everything to do with keeping the average voter clueless until after November 2018.

Try working in one for a day sewing shirts or combat fatigues and then talk about skills. Just because women did the work does not make it brainless. We need those jobs back for people who choose not to spend tens of thousands on a college degree but want an honest job they can rely on.

If you’re representative of the type of women that have such a job, then we know it requires no brains.

Have you ever tried to make your own clothes? It's not as easy as you might think. If you don't get the measurements correct, or follow the pattern properly, you can end up with a mess. Learned that from Home Economics in HS. I took Home Ec. because I knew that I was going to be single for a couple of years after HS, and I didn't want to run around in ratty clothes, eating out of a can. I learned how to cook, sew (came in useful in the Navy, I charged people 5 bucks per patch for sewing), and all that good stuff.

Kinda glad I took that class, because it helped me to become an excellent cook.
