Allowing them to serve openly does NOT have any impact on morale, matter of fact, it's quite the opposite, because the people serving in the same workspace as the gay servicemember probably ALREADY know that their fellow military member is gay.

Quick question sportcheck, how many years did YOU serve in the military, and if you did serve, how many gays did you know? DADT was one of the most failed policies that the military ever put into place.

Because in my military career, the last 2 tours that I did were independent duty tours, and in each case, I was an E-6 that was filling the billet of an E-7, and when I left, I was REPLACED by a Chief or higher. One was on an MSC vessel for 2 years, and the other was running the Navy office at Amarillo MEPS for 2 and 1/2.
