It's official, the US is now run by the rich, for the rich

Ah, one of the most ridiculous statements going.

we live in the United States of America. What so ridiculous about become a rich?

I didn't say it was ridiculous to become rich.

The point is that the rich need workers in order to become rich. You have to take risks and gambles.

It's IMPOSSIBLE for everyone in America to be rich. There has to be people who are much lower down. So to suggest everyone just become rich to avoid these problems is to ignore reality.

Not if you live within your means, stay out of debt, and invest 15% of your income.

Takes work thrift and sacrifice but it’s doable for just about anyone who makes a plan

Well now we've still got problems.

Invest 15% of your income. Or gamble 15% of your income.

Firstly it depends on how much income you're getting in. Can all people afford 15%? To even save 15% let alone gamble it on a system that could bite you in the ass with one bad day?

Stay out of debt? Come on, how many people can afford to buy a home without getting into massive, MASSIVE debt?

You seem not to be seeing things from the perspective of the bottom 80%

anyone who lives beneath their means, avoids debt and saves

And is that possible for most people?

People need a home, that costs a lot of money. People need food, they need transportation, they need things to live, and a lot of people don't have enough money to buy these things up front. I certainly don't.

It is some what ridiculous because we have one of the worst social mobility rates among the industrialized countries.

So, while it is possible, the idea that everyone can achieve the American dream is just a myth

Yes, the saying is that anyone can achieve it. Potentially true, someone could win the lottery, for instance. But not everyone can do it together. One can do it, while thousands won't be able to do it.

Is there any way to make it different? It seems that has been the case through all of history, some go up, some down most stay where they started.

Of course it's always been like this. The issue in the modern world is that people want more power. They want more equality, not less.

What's the point of Democracy? The US pretends to have Democracy, whereas the reality is something quite different.

reality is we are a republic. And as much as some people like to conflate the two, a democracy and a republic are not the same thing

It doesn't matter what you call the US, people want to have a say in their own political structure, but the rich are denying them that.
