It matters not who got our economy to this point

Well you are wrong, because the problem that Obama inherited should take more then 3 years to fix. I hope you realize that magnitude of both domestic, financial, Military, and near depression we were in.

Do you think Mccain and Palin would have done better, or quicker?

OBAMA NOT US said he could do it in one term. You're behind the times.

Just the opposite I am in real time. I understand he made broken promises as all POTUS in my lifetime have done.

So you are smarter than Obama was when he made his assessment.... got it.

Your place here is cemented. Enjoy

Blaming Bush is pointless because he hasnt been in office for 3 years. Obama has.

No, it is NOT - it is critical that we blame him for his actions, because we don't want to repeat it or at least I don't - nor send the message that a/any sitting POTUS - will not be responsible to it's people or his actions that he makes.

You're an idiot. Playing the blame game does NOTHING to stop future politicians from repeating the same damn thing again. It just gives them an excuse "well <--------- he did it"

Absolutely, however we mUST understand what caused this mess and take action to prevent it from worsening and or happening again.
Neither side is willing to do this.

Surely a reasonable position would be to accept 10 dollars in spending cuts for 1 dollar in tax increases; would it not? Perhaps someone should suggest that to the Republicans. Oh wait, they've already said they wouldn't do that.

So obviously the GOP will accept no sort of compromise whatsoever.

These are the facts and they are not in dispute.

Ok, well it was nice to try out this site. I just don't see where I should be called an idiot.

You say you don't want to repeat it yet that is EXACTLY what Obama has done, in spades.

:cuckoo:

Now this I agree with. However it contradicts your blameless before 3.5 years ago statement.
How does it contradict?

That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that ANYONE who, after 3.5 years, blames their predecessor for their performance failure, and who admits that almost every day, is incompetent.

I think if you check back you will see where I predicted before the 2008 election that this mess would outlast the next president whomever it turned out to be.
And that it would only get worse if meaningful changers were not implemented to prevent it's happening again or getting far worse and lasting maybe 2 decades.

Actually it does matter who got our economy to this point. Leaving the same morons in place only makes certain that we will keep digging ourselves out of a hole.

You are correct and I disagree with that position. Ive stated before that I wouldnt even oppose my taxes going up IF I knew that congress would do the right thing with the money. Problem is they usually dont. So where do we go from here?

Lots of polls and blame to go around. Enough to keep partisans on both sides pointing fingers for years.
What SHOULD matter at this point is why we are doing so poorly in our recovery. Blaming Bush is pointless to our recovery. The historians can decide who and what it will be viewed like later. In the meantime lets focus on the here and now and decide which path we need to take to expidite our recovery.

All the posts about BOOOOOOOOOSH are just pointless. For example I believe Frank, dems and many spinless pubs are to blame but starting such threads serves no purpose as its water under the bridge now and blame cant fix shit. Congress and Obama can however.

It sure as hell does when one party is insisting it can fix the economy by doing the very things that put us in this position in the first place. One party insists that deregulation of the financial institutions is the panecea, yet that kind of deregulation, GlassSteagal, put us where we are today. Kind of like no matter how many times I cut the end off, it is still too short.

DOESN'T MATTER?!? Brainwashed IDIOCY LOL

Should Pubs be rewarded for putting us in this mess (WORLD DEPRESSION and dumbazz wars, huge growth of AlQaeda), and now paralyzing the gov't since 2/2010 (and they even lie about THAT)?

"No compromise, un-American Tea Party GOP" (TIME).

Why in the world do you vote for these disastrous, lying incompetents?

Brainwashed idiocy..."Let's try that AGAIN!" LOL

And both sides and the finiancial institutions supported that deregulation.
Not just one side although they were the most outspoken about it.

Both sides loved the housing bubble till it burst.
Both sides loved the finiancial institutions making mega bucks casino style till it flopped and burned the entire world.
etc.

Well, this site is a certain way. You need a much thicker skin to post here than the one you seem to have.

If you don't have a thick skin, then, yeah, this site isn't a fit for you.

vote out the ones in congress that created this mess.

Only problem with that is Congress is just a symptom of the bigger problem. The problem isnt our politicians. The Problem is us. You, me, everyone. We elect people who represent us. Those people end up being corrupt. Why? Because we are corrupt.

We need to cleanse our lies of impurities to the best of our ability and encourage others to do the same. We need to be honest with ourselves and others. We need to do our best to clean our rose colored lens and humble ourselves.

If we do that, we will elect better representatives and our problems will be fixed.

Ive tried. Many times. Problem is most people dont pay attention and just keep voting the same name they KNOW on the ballots.

I actually wish they would remove the D's and R's from the ballot and force people to look into what someone stands for.

Don't take anything Grumps says too seriously. Most of us have learned that.

the most important thing for posters to have here is a limited vision and a hard small little partisan brain.

I would love to see organized political partys banned.
