At this point, I’d put the odds at about 2 to 1 against him getting a second term, and it has nothing to do with this shutdown. Watch his support dwindle when we get the overdue recession before the 2020 election, and the stock market drops by around 40%. Neither will be his fault necessarily, but that’s politics.

I think China will come around before then. They have a growing middle-class finally that will not tolerate a falling economy.
And when China does, everyone will be splooging with glee that they stayed in the market. Hell, market might hit 30,000 by 2020!

Care to make a bet? I bet the DJIA hits 17,000 again before it hits 30,000.
