Is the Tax Deal As Good for Blacks as Obama Claims?

I see NOTHING racist in his post.

African-Americans are a constituency and he's asking if Obama's tax deal is good for this constituency .. no differently than someone asking if the deal is good for any constituency.

You may not care about black politics .. and that's fine, but some of us do and we discuss it .. no differently than politics for women, gays, or conservatives.

Definition of CONSTITUENCY
1
a : a body of citizens entitled to elect a representative (as to a legislative or executive position) b : the residents in an electoral district c : an electoral district

Funny... not about race... it's not a race that elects or that is selectively chosen to elect a leader

There should be no black politics, like there should be no white politics or aboriginal politics or eskimo politics or whatever other race you wish to inject

the basshole is continually and completely about the racism he holds on to dearly

If you can't figure out that ANY body of voters with similar interests comprise a constituency .. can't help you. Your definition doesn't say anything about women or gays either, but they comprise an important demographic constituency.

Not sure what theoretical world you live in, but in THIS country race matters.Just as EVERY constiutuency has an agenda, so do African-Americans .. and it's different than your agenda.

There is NOTHING racist in his post just right-wingers who believe that only they get to set an agenda and ANYTHING uniquely black must be "racist."

An absolutely amazing thought coming from the historically insane right-wing which has little to ZERO basis or credibility for determing what is racist.

I agree that Bass' is not a racist post...

But as a conservaitve, I must also point out that whereas you say that the right has zero credibility for determining what a racist is....do you blame us? We have been called racist for just about everything and anything we belkieve in.

It DOES get confusing to us. Perhpas if the word "racist" wasnt applied to just about anything, it would be easier to determine what truly IS racist.

Something that can be within a constituency is not a constituency.... I showed you exactly what a constituency is.... and now you're a little embarrassed... again... a group that elects a representative is not about race... we do not have elected officials that are only represented by one race or another... but nice try

When you separate due to race, as basshole (and it looks like you do as well) does... and others call it out... those calling out the racist tendencies are not the ones who are the racists

Again... those who want race taken out of things or that do not refer to race, are the ones that you like to deem as racist... PRICELESS!!!!

The basshole is notoriously racist... and we all know exactly why the racist posted what he did...

And those who want race kept out of the equation are the racist ones?? Get a grip and a sense of reality

The fact that you use the term "black politics" IS the problem. The insane demanding of colorblindness, then demanding that I acknowledge that you are black and you have your own politics that satisfies a need you have that I don't.

Scary shit man.

Who in the fuck wants to see a "color-blind" society? I SURE AS HELL DON'T.

Not even slightly interested in a society that pretends not to see the race or gender of another person. Not looking for tolerence, looking for diversity. BIG difference.

Black politics are necessary in a country where we've existed for nearly FOUR-HUNDRED YEARS but have only been RELATIVELY free for about FORTY-FIVE YEARS.

Don't understand .. that's ok .. it's expected.

Who said a color bling society or people not knowing differing history and cultures of races?? But color blind politics? I SURE AS HELL WANT THAT... there is NO place in a government based on equal treatment by law and by government for separation or concentration on race

Whites only talk that "colorblind" talk when they don't want or feel that issues addressing people of color should be heard when the reality is we don't live in a colorblind society and when things like unemployment, poverty and poor schools predominately affect blacks at a far higher rate, its dumb to play the "colorblind" card, otherwise the issues wouldn't get addressed properly.

Exactly when do we no longer use the term "black politics"?
What is the benchmark where it would be inappropriate just as "asian politics" would be considered inappropriate?

Equal treatment when it benefits you... unequal treatment also OK when it benefits you.... we understand how you are, basshole

I started this thread and posted that link because not too long ago Obama said this:

“I can’t pass laws that say I’m just helping black folks. I’m the president of the United States. What I can do is make sure that I am passing laws that help all people, particularly those who are most vulnerable and most in need. That in turn is going to help lift up the African-American community

That being the case, why shouldn't blacks examine whether the that tax deal was the best thing for us? We have every right to question it.

And Obama... as an elected official in our government that is supposed to be about equal treatment for all, was wrong for trying to separate that or target that based on race.... he was trying to play both sides of the fence... but in the end still targeted this purely at one race

It's persons like you who actually help racism to stay alive and perpetuate it within our government

Obama only cares if it's a good deal for him.

It's All About Him.

When will whites stop pretending that "white politics" is nonexistent just because no one is specifically calling it by that name? Whites complain about Black Entertainment Television because of the name but ignore that white entertainment television exists in all but name.

Does the entire African American Community need lifting up?

And the inevitable victim card that generally gets played shortly after the race card in a defensive move

I see that as a diversion.

You did not answer the question....you simply inferred that all whites are racists and blacks have the right to be racists to.

That disgusts me.

You completely missed my point, my point is that blacks should hold Obama's feet to the fire just like any other president and he said he could pass laws that though intended for all would help black people, well I see no problem with blacks questioning and evaluating whether those passed laws are helping blacks.

I suggest you look in the miorror and see who is hampering many efforts to eliminate racism in this country. Your atttitude and thought proicess is troubling...

And what is more troubling is your inability to see this.

I didn't infer anything, I just exposed the "colorblind" stance that some whites are taking in this thread as a farce because they believe that color specific politics is only a thing that non-whites do.

I did not miss your point...You see blacks as having different needs than all other races in this country.

They do not.

And you believe that politicians sit around coming up with policies taking into condsieration how they will help only certain races?

I appreciate that sincere thought .. however good brother, the perception of racism that the right carries should be no surprise to anyone. It is a well-deserved reputation and I see absolutely nothing the right wants to do about it other than call everyone else a racist.

Look no further than this thread. Any use of the word "black" means "racist" to republicans .. as if we don't have the right and DUTY to unite in a nation where we have only been realtively free for 45 years out of 400.

I'd like to discuss this with you further, but I have an alarm going off on one of my client sites. Gotta' get back to you later brother.
