Is Jeb Bush The Only Real Option?

Let's see if Jeb starts sucking up to blacks, women and gays...

Very good that you recognize our GOP needs to reach sincerely to women, blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities.

Romney was our only real chance last year, and the far right, once again, blew it for the party.

Not bad, RW... not bad at all... nicely done.

So ....who do the Republicans have in 2016?

Jeb Bush
Bobby Jindal
Marco Rubio
Chris Christie
Rand Paul
Scott Walker
Ted Cruz
Paul Ryan
Rick Santorum
Allen West

Who is most capable of getting to 270?

So, who do Republicans have that could hit 270?

Candidates who can win swing states
Bush
Ryan
Walker
Christie

Candidates not ready for prime time
Jindal
Rubio

Clown car
Cruz
Paul
West
santorum

He would have the Hispanic vote....:eusa_whistle:

not if his economic policies are regressive. Hispanics pretty much love Hillary. he'd be a late-comer to the game. but at least he'd get some Hispanic votes.... unlike the rest of the troglodytes.

Hillary won't have the strength to run. She has had bad heath. Blood clots in a vein in her head and another behind her knee, in recent years. She has a history of blood clots. She was treated for one that formed behind the right knee in 1998.

Mccain's health was much much worse (look at his fricking left cheek!) when he ran in 2008 (he was 72 years old btw)

Who's on the bench if Hillary can't run?

Jerry Brown
Elizabeth Warren
Joe Biden (bleh, not my pick by far...but gotta mention him)
Patrick Deval (only cause he polls well in New Hampshire)

They all know their nutcase candidates can't win and Christie is pretty much dead in the water.

Republicans are realizing that Jeb Bush is their only option in 2016 - The Week

.

I can't see how another BUsh gets elected, especially against a Clinton.

I also dispute that Bush is the only viable candidate they have.

Walker is very viable. Kasich is viable.

Frankly, I'd rather have the GOP nominate Cruz or Rand Paul and take a shellacking. then and only then, will the GOP rank and file realize that they need to address their problems with women and working folks and minorities.

Instead, they've had the ability to say, "Well Mccain/Romney weren't 'real' conservatives, and conservatives stayed home and that's why they lost."

You say that, now. If he wins the Republican primaries, you'll immediately flip your tune 360 and tell us what a callous, misanthropic, out-of-touch rich-bitch he is and why he's -WAY- too greedy to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. I'd put money on it.

It's what typical partisan Dem nutjobs did with John McCain -and- Mitt Romney.

Both those guys, during the primaries, every democrat pundit's on and on about how they're the only reasonable candidate the republicans have to offer, the only moderate candidate, definitely the one republicans should vote for if they're able to dissuade the "extremist fringe" of the party.

Then, once those guys got the nod, it was, "He was a POW and he's old as fuck! Probably crazier than a shithouse rat and probably gon' die half way through his term! We could -never- elect this fuckin guy!"

Or it was, "He's too rich to relate to the common man, he used to be in the business of kicking people out of their jobs, he hates women, gays, blacks, Mexicans, the poor, infants, puppies, rainbows, dolphins, the sick, the old, the young, the healthy."

Both times, I was like, "Wait. If this guy's so fucked up, why did the Democrats insist that the Republicans should give him the nomination -all- through the primaries?"

No, guy, the Democrats really did give you great advice on these two guys.

The problem is, neither of these guys could be themselves and kept pandering tothe crazies.

McCain for instance, couldn't rest on the laurels that he had EASILY beaten Huckabee. No, no, he had to pander to the religious Crazies by taking Bible Spice as his running mate.

And when we saw this idiot would be just a heartbeat away from the Presidency, it was then that people noticed, "Hey, you know, the guy is 72 years old, not in good health, and holy shit, is she fucking stupid!!!"

For Romney, he was an awful candidate in 2008, where a shitload of Mormon Money couldn't best Huckabee running on a shoestring. So after bullying all the sensible candidate out of the running in 2012, Romney barely beat the crazies, who all got at least a look. Even Bachmann and Herman Cain.

Is Hillary the only real option? Wouldn't you democrats prefer a left wingnut like Liz Warren? C'mon, be honest. Hillary is it? Really?

Sorry Moonbats, it's the Midterms first- then we'll talk about 2016........

Yeah, unfortunately, the meaningless midterms will probably convince the nuts that people like them.

When the reality is... most people will have just stayed home because they lived in states and districts that weren't in contention.

So let's talk about the midterms. Probably only about 30 districts out of 435 are going to be "competitive", and 8 out of 34 Senate Seats...

But you guys will claim that winning this very small slice of the electorate in an off-year election means,

without addressing the real problems.

The GOP has lost women, working people, young people and minorities by huge margins, and there aren't enough angry white males to keep it afloat.

The GOP of the 1980's that was for small but efficient government could have won these folks, but meh, the party of "Suck it, peasents!" won't.

Yea...that happens to 66 year olds

You guys planning on running on Hillary is a hag or just Benghazi?

We won't have to do anything, You liberals will destroy her in the primaries.

It's ok. You can admit it- she's not liberal enough. You want a wingnut like Liz Warren.

But you see, unlike you GOP nutjobs, the left realizes they need to win the center.

While you guys keep telling yourselves that Romney and McCain weren't conservative enough.

Now, here's the thing. Hillary didn't really lose in the primaries in 2008. She actually garnered more votes than Obama did. But because Michigan and Florida broke the rules on primary timing, they didn't produce any delegates for her two wins there, and the superdelegates all rallied to Obama.

A lot of Democrats, knowing that the GOP was going down in 2008 after Bush's literally criminal incompetence, figured that if they nominated Hillary, all the crazy shit about Mena Airport and Vince Foster and Ken Starr panty sniffing would haunt her, so they decided that this Obama guy tested well and gee, maybe he won't make the Republicans crazy.

Well. Wrong guess. The Republicans went crazier over Obama than they ever did over Hillary.

The point is moot

Hillary would have defeated McCain by as wide a margin as Obama. Republicans taunt that Hillary could not even beat Obama in 2008. Hillary came close........Republicans didn't

Jeb is one of the few Republicans who will not enter the GOP Clown Car just to pick up a few conservative votes. He avoids the rightwing histrionics, he distances himself from the nutjobs, doesn't engage in extreme rhetoric.....he actually sounds like an adult

Hint: Run as "Jeb" not "Jeb Bush"

If I were a dem...Bush would worry me as a political opponent. As a liberal....something about him puts me at ease. The campaign's PP and debates will have to fill in the blanks.
