Interesting Article On Modern Day Socialism.

Carnegie was born in 1835.

And I have nothing against rich people. What I have a problem with, is the idea that society should be formed SOLELY around the idea of being rich...
Please accept my interruption but this is where I have to take issue.

Humankind is very diverse and many people strive for many different things. If riches were all that mattered then there'd be a lot more undertakers because it pays a lot better than say, school teaching. Fact is we got a lot more school teachers than undertakers.

Some folks have spiritual values as their goal and they swear a life of poverty. Some want fame and they struggle for the spotlight. The performing arts biz is a winner take all setup where if u got 2 performers where one's just a teenee bit better then the teenee bit better one gets all the jobs and the just about as good one starves. There're a lot more just about as good performers than stars but they all work just as hard. If riches were really the goal then they'd quit performing and go back to selling insurance.

In other words. China is borrowing elements of Capitalism, and the US is borrowing elements of Marxism.

It's telling how you first claim the Marxist economic system is inferior, only to turn around and claim they're superior in certain aspects.

Ever consider the possibility that both have advantages and disadvantages?
I prefer using the term collectivism than Marxism, simply because Marxism is never the goal in a Marxist regime, and as a result, never fully attain that. Again, the only goal is complete control.

There are various flavors of collectivism, Marxism being one of many. There is Marxism, communism, Nazism, fascism, Progressivism, etc. The most troubling aspects of collectivism, however, is their ability to create a world conquering army. Before WW1 the US was ill equipped to fight a major war because it was not a collectivist nation, but then entered President Wilson to begin to create a collectivist government that could raise the funds to build a world conquering army through such efforts as a Federal income tax they added to the Constitution. FDR also made strides doing this during WW2 to the point that the US created the largest and most powerful army in the world. They created a collectivist state that rivaled Hitler and Stalin.

But how would they have stopped the collectivist entities of Hillter and Stalin had they not done so? Just look at how many countries the US has their military around the world, it was more than Hitler ever had and could only dream of having.

But as the saying goes, be careful of becoming what you are fighting. The US now either goes to war or funds a war at the drop of a hat without even declaring war. Think of all the wars since the last one declared. It is kind of frightening the Frankenstein that has been unleashed. There is no restraining it.
